Christoph Henrici Have you heard John Jackson's version? His voice carries a strong, soulful knowledge of that journey.
@ChristophHenrici6 жыл бұрын
No, just listened, also wonderful, thanks for the pointer. To be honest, there so many great versions around , Big Bill, Doc, Chet, Greatful Death, Avett Brother, Woody and also not least to mention Scotty Anderson's fantastic instrumental version, that it is maybe a little over the top to pick one out. All great. But this one has something - for me , which put's it apart.

Christoph Henrici (chuckling) You said, "Grateful Death". Um, I understand the 'connection'. It's a GREAT song and a very well done performance by these guys. I have that same affinity for the John Jackson version just because of his voice.

What's that giant guitar the one white guy has?
@JohnWilson-bn1xs6 жыл бұрын
Bass guitar, usually--but I'm sure there's a Spanish/Mexican name. It's very common in Mexican and TexMex bands, but most American traditional or bluegrass bands use a standup (or hounddog) bass.
