I like how this person spoke fast, and also got to the point fast, while still keeping emotion and little extras in it, which is a high contrast from most explanation videos, which take extremely long to explain even the tiniest of things. The person spoke fast enough that it wasn't boring, but not too fast, like in some videos that I had to rewind. There was another character we see Lava Bend, if only briefly. When Roku explains the Avatar state and we see flashbacks of past Avatars demonstrating it, the Fire Avatar before Yangchen made the volcanoes behind him erupt. On a side note, pretty sure Lava comes from having a bending lineage for both earth and fire, Bolin being the prime example.

I feel like there's an addition to the Earth Benders. Bending the metal within your body/blood. I feel like if a skilled enough Earth Bender trained and learned from the Water Benders and their techniques of Blood Bending they could eventually learn how to bend the metal within your blood to rip you to shreds from the inside out.

metal benders dont bend the actual metal they bend the earth inside the metal, shown by when toph first learned metal bending her ‘seismic vision could feel the earth bound in the metal. its also proven in korra that earth benders cannot bend platinum as it is pure metal. the metal in our bodies are stored as metal ions or ionic compounds so theoretically this cannot work.

Yes they don't understand they think amon could take away bending just like aang but what aang does is different. Aang completely takes over someone's bending power permanently and covert them to non bender human while amon doesn't do that he uses bloodbending and with that he permanently blocks the chakras and chi with which a person can bend and make them think that there bending is gone and they aren't a bender now but in reality they are only difference is they can't release that energy or chi since amon has blocked it and since no one is a a skilled blood bender as skilled as amon so they can't even unblock it even Katara who is a bloodbender couldn't do anything to unlock Korra bending until aang came and used energy bending to unlock Korra bending energy and korra used the same thing on others.

@@shounenking313issue is that if aang needed to use energy bending to give korra her bending then that means amon actually took it away. For example lets say there’s a tank of water. Aang creates a pipe to allow the water to flow, or takes away the pipe in order to stop the flow. In korra’s case her pipes were simply blocked according to this statement. U cant give someone two of the same ability. So korra wouldve had four blocked pipes. I dont see how aang wouldve given her bending back if this is the case. Since he can only give or take away bending. It makes more sense that amon simply took away the capacity to bend in the first place rather than block the abolity from being able to manifest

How is ice bending not a special ability? Water benders should be able to bend water, but turning it into ice requires you to manipulate it's temperature. They can turn water into ice and backwards, which means they can heat up the water enough for it to be liquid. Any other explanation as to why water benders can turn water into ice and backwords, would require them manipulating and bending the very atoms or molecules of water itself for it to turn into ice......WHICH IS EVEN MORE CRACY. Aang defeated all hid enemies without having to rely on the past avatars. Yes korras enemies might have been stronger but she had more things at her disposal (bending sub-elements) like energy bending and her friend using magma bending and lightning bending, mate even one of aangs friends wasn't even a bender and was a flippin comedian, yes katara knew blood bending but she pretty much never used it, toph knew metal bending, but she had to learn it herself with instead of people saying it's possible people saying it's impossible. I think we can all agree now aang had to do what he did without help from anyone but his friends really, most of the time tenzin and lin beifong (beifong is a metal bender too, like korra) were there to help them. Also yes I do know aang used roku once to clear an opening for him to run away, but that isn't the same as giving him back his bending. A mere smoke bomb could do the same as what roku did to help aang. Also I know on korras team they have one non bender but she has those glove thingies that unleash strong shocks.

But to counter some of your points, aang needed roku, kyoshi, and all the other past avatars in multiple of his fights. He never had control over the avatar state, the other avatars had to take over his body and fight for him. Every avatar needed help from their past lives. He didn't give korra mastery over everything lol. She was a master of 3 elements in the very first episode. All he did was reopen her chakras and give her her bending back. By doing this she learned energy bending from him and was able to do it to others. That doesn't make him automatically better than her lol. She was 16 years old of course she needs help. Aang literally died in the avatar state. Without katara there would be no avatar anymore. Yall acting like aang learned all the elements and defeated the firelord by himself will never not be hilarious because did we watch the same show? I love both aang and korra equally but you diehard aang fans give him way too much just to put down korra. Both needed plenty of help and that's completely fine. In my opinion, lightning bending was supposed to be an air technique. Lightning occurrence is more related to weather. There had to be a fire technique in lava bending. In lava, it's very hot like fire.

It's still make sense for an earthbender to bend lava. Afterall, lava is just liquid earth. But I would theorise that in order for an earthbender to be able to lavabend, he/she must possessed a minor-fire chi that he/she get through 1 of his/her parents. Like Bolin, who is an earthbender, but has a minor fire pre-disposition chi through her firebending mother.

I saw a theory that kind of explains lava bending and why we don't hear anything about it before Legend of Korra. This theory helps me accept it. To be able to lava bend you have to have a parent from both the fire nation and the earth kingdom and while you might not be able to bend fire as well, fire is still in your blood and you are able to connect with it when it is part of rock. It wasn't until sometime after the 100 year war where interracial marriages became more common. This theory would also help explain why it's so rare, but not unheard of in the time of Korra.

I always thought that Avatar specific bending would be cooler. Like you said Lava Bending would be a combo of Earth and Fire. And how about Steam Bending being Water and Fire. Cloud bending could be Water and Air. Plant Bending would be Water and Earth. Lightning could have been Air and Earth. Invisibility could be Air and Water. I could go on. I think its probably better the way it is giving more characters more options. But, it would be cool to have Avatar Aang and Korra use these various combinations to make them overpowered after mastering the basic four elements. It would give them a logical power creep in later episodes as tools for their success that they have to creatively use in difficult situations. It would be a great way to keep the action exciting and fresh and difficult situations a way to demonstrate creative problem solving. I can already see Sokka brainstorming a plan asking Aang if combining two or three elements to try some sort of creative escape plan.

It never really clicked to me with lava bending being an Avatar only ability at the start. Though a friend of mine would always argue it should've been a fire bending ability, not understanding that at its core, lava is just molten rock, therefore earth. Just like how water benders are dropping the temperature to make ice, lava benders are raising the temp of rocks to make lava. Though, if the movie Volcano is to be believed, that's raising the temp from room temperature to somewhere in the thousands in seconds.
