Many of the vendors get stuff from their family members who shop at flea markets in the United States and ship them out in these huge drums , it helps support the communities in DR, it gives the people access to goods that otherwise would be difficult to get. So supporting these vendors during a visit is very meaningful.

As a foreigner thank you so much for being so considerate and understanding. That other countries are less fortunate & many people have to do this sometimes just to eat everyday. The way you guys express your experience was beautiful. Many others would talk down on people like Elvis.

I love your reaction to having a few sips of his milkshake and the noise and kind of giggly you made is making me giggle. Y’all are so fun to watch because you’re just normal people and you laugh more than pretty much any other reseller so that’s why I keep watching every now and then.

Back in 2018 did a cruise stop in nassa went searching for LPs. Took 3 hrs to find a shop bought 80 albums all new sealed of earlier 90s hardcore rap. Wish we had bought everything including long boxed cassettes. Lps were $2 each the cassettes were 2 for $5. Wife cut me off at 80 albums in worry we not have space in suitcase but i bought new one and paid for extra bag...lol

Reminds me of the time the wife and I went to Cancun and took the ferry across to Playa Del Carmen. We were not resellers at the time, but I am sure we would look at the adventure differently today because of what we do now. Great video. Better Ralli Roots fist bump at the end. I miss that little touch when you don't do it.

We’re not going out of the country but we’re gonna be driving from Texas to Virginia this summer to see our son and we plan on stopping all through the country on the way there to see different areas and to look for those types of things.yard sells estate sales thrift stores flea markets along our way. So I would love to see more of these type of videos!

Wow what a great video. I kind of wished you would have splurged on a $200.00 bundle. I bet you would have found some jackpots! Sourcing this way country to country looks like a lot of fun( if only you had more time on the island) the best part is tipping your local tour guide is so important. You guys are seasoned travelers so you know how important the tip is for an awesome day! Loved it!❤

If I wasn't a gentlemen, I would comment on Ryan saying it sold for 69.69 and Allie is saying I've done that...love you guys and thanks for the video. I always take a day or two to do the local thing wherever I'm traveling which has led to the best memories. Some included run ins with machetes and machine guns but all turned out well. Partied in an artist's private bar which at the time we thought was a public bar...just fun times. Whenever I go to DR I bring an extra suitcase full of school supplies for the local school...DR has the nicest people. Even had locals visit us in the states after hang with them many times in DR. As you say you just need to be smart.

I guess Dominican's have an option buy a totally unseen, surprise bail of goods to support their business of used goods. Many times these things are filled with scraps, damaged, un-buyable stained clothes from Goodwill in those bails. $200 seemed alot for taking a risk on that bail.

You guys, it’s not the same shopping in the DR as in the U.S. Trying to bargain them down is offensive. They’re trying to make a living and you’re not wanting to pay only $20 for the bag? Come on! Next time read up on shopping in other countries. You’re looking like stingy rich people.
@RALLIROOTS5 ай бұрын
That’s not true at all lol 😆 like I said, I lived there for a month, bargaining is absolutely acceptable in the DR, and that bag would’ve been $5 for a local.

Wrong.
@StaceyDennyFreelanceWriter5 ай бұрын
I hope agree with Ryan. I have family there and even haggling they didn't get local prices. They paid a fair tourist price.
@njther26495 ай бұрын
So not true...for many years DR was my go-to vacation spot going there a few times a year. What they paid was even higher than what they would have charged a local. If you listen even Elvis the local was bargaining for the forks. $10 dollars in DR is like $30-$40 in the US because it goes so much further.
