Had an argument on the dom5 reddit where someone was like - "C'tis is the evil nation bc they corrupted ermor and lead to the Ashen Empire and Lemuria" ... Bro, C'tis isn't responsible for ermorian hubris in misusing their death magic C'tis isn't evil bc they practice responsible death magic, they're evil because they've enslaved their own people for millenia, and upon losing the revolution they turn to reanimating their ancient priest-kings instead of reforming their country and progressing to a new era and society (LA C'tis my beloved failnation)

Excellent. Thanks! PS. One nice thing about lizard shamans - minor, admittedly, but still handy - is that they can build labs _and_ temples. So when you want to build a fort, you just need to send a lizard shaman there.

A niche use for the starting holy one would be to site search hoping to find ancient temples. Not really useful on turn 1, but there is at least a tiny bit of use you could get out of it. Not sure how many priest mages ctis have, holy might not really be something that gets searched otherwise.

I preferred going heavy scales and using mostly slaves to expand early and transitioned into heavy troops and chariots. I went cowgod to start at growth three with skills to get mother oak and riches from beneath. I was able to very easily spam forts and temples everywhere to recruit more troops to expand faster, and honestly feels like some of the easiest EA expansion. I found money was the primary thing slowing me down early and even then still got 12 provinces at end of year one despite having to fight Caelum on turn four. Honestly with how good your plebs are, I don't see much reason to worry about trying to get a good bless. Similarly I say C'Tis doesn't have inefficient research, Lizard Shamans are 50 gold upkeep for 11 research at 125 gold cost, so ends up not being that hard to spam in multiple areas.

18:18 no he hits for 15 not 13 as you imply. It's weapon (3) + strength (10) + bonus from the fact it's 2 handed (in this case 2) = 15 damage

The serpent dancer hits for 15 magic damage before poison, 3 from the weapon, 10 from strength and another 2 for the two handed multiplier. So no the summary is not misleading at all and 15 is the correct number. Worth noting that Stygian Rains gives invulnerability to enemies too, so you'd need a way to break that symmetry for it to be worth casting.

A lot of the death evocations got buffed in Dom 6, might give more reason do something other than just skelespam. I had good use of Bolt and Blast of Unlife in my LA Ctis single player game to counter heavy armor that skeletons couldn't handle

Skeletons really can't be your damage dealers against anything but the junkiest junk. A lot of death things also don't friendly fire undead. Good point.

Wait... There are penalties to fighting in swamps? I never knew that. Edit the first: Serpent dancers bless options, blur, attack skill, swiftness, blood surge, invulnerability, heroism (xp levels adds to both attack and defence if I recall).... Edit the second: Reborn and Sauromancers also have a lot of undead leadership natively. Though they can't do formations, a blob of skellies makes for decent chaff. Edit the third: How useful is the "Summon archer" spell? Are those banefire archers? Is one fire easy to get on one of your casters? Would it be worth it to get some ranged support?

Have you had any luck with that bless or do you mean those in general? To get fire you'd need to take some on your pretender, but that could also open up flame spirit summons.

@@BabelBuilder I was just mentioning those. Never played EA C'Tis. I tend to mostly play MA or LA. And I am biased towards Dormant/imprisoned pretenders as I only play Single player and like a base of scales with a utility bless.

I don't see Runner and Slave warrior as comparable. They simply serve different purposes -you'd take the Runners for their ability to run and SWs simply don't do that.
