Great workout. I did it with you and did the 3 sets. Definitely sweating. As a PT/ Pilates trainer to avoid the neck strain in the lower ab exercises try looking forward ( as if your face is looking right at the wall). This engages the neck flexors ( which fun research fact gets abs to kick in more) and takes the strain off the intervertebral discs and neck extensors. Rule of thumb- if you’re working flexors work the flexors in the neck too, and inversely -extensors use extensors.

Great video! Thank you Domenique and Kelley! We also have to accept the look of a women's healthy and well-muscled body! Be aware that muscle is heavier than fat, so expect some weight gain at first. Muscle uses more caleries, so it will even out as your muscle mass increases. I've weight-lifted for 30 years and stopped during covid. This is motivating me to get back to it! Our bodies work so much better with the type of awareness of body position that this type of workout brings. One is much less likely to injure one's self at any activity if your muscles are stronger and you have the newly-learned awareness of how to use your body that correctly-positioned weight lifting brings.

I loved this video! So informatiave. I already do a weight workout 4 days a week. I am 59 years old and I feel great. I truly believe that exercise is the fountain of youth. It helps your body, mind and spirit. I can't wait to add this workout into my routine. I thought I was getting enough protein, but now I see I am not. After a workout, I make a smoothie with almond or coconut milk, spinach, blueberries, and whey protein powder. I Usually have greek yogurt for breakfast. I will have to find ways to get more protein in. Will definitely try putting the protein powder in and on other foods and drinks. Every little bit helps! Can you recommend a good one? Thank you so much for sharing this video.

Thank you, Dominique & Kelley! I am 58 & have been a regular exerciser throughout my adult years. I enjoyed this workout, and also the discussion afterwards. I did the workout along with the 2 of you. I did the one set with you, then paused the video and did 2 more sets before moving on. It took me about 40 min. I enjoyed it! I’m going to add/sub this workout to my weekly workouts. After hearing what Kelley had to say about our bodies needing more protein, I focused yesterday on intentionally adding foods (cottage cheese, hemp seeds, peas, nuts) to my meals in order to increase my protein throughout the day. Adding to my usual diet, I was able to get to about 30 more grams of protein & plan to continue to work on this. Thanks again! God bless you both.

Hi Dominique... I thought you quit this type of exercise totally and moved to yoga? Perhaps I got that wrong. I am the same age as you and keep doing weight workouts. It just keeps me feeling more strong and fit. How do you feel about both types of work-outs. I really think I should incorporate yoga weekly and have been thinking of it. I used to do it regularly but could not maintain both with full-time work, family etc. Any suggestions for the best mix of the two?

Great workout! 👍🏻 I’d just like to add for my fellow vegan/vegetarian mid-lifers, SunWarrior makes excellent plant-based protein powders. I’ve been strength training for many years, & they’re the best I’ve come across so far (not sponsored, ha). Also, I’ve found (through research & my own experience) that 1.4-1.8 grams per *kilogram* (not pound) of body weight is more than sufficient to build & maintain muscle. For example, I’m 130 lbs (59 kg), so I eat between 83-106 grams of protein daily. That said, you should absolutely listen to your own body’s needs. Hope that helps. 😊

@@elle1014elle for ankles, some ankle circles in both directions, point and flex your feet as well. Thank you for this! Everyone always says 1g protein/lb, but they NEVER say whether that's current body weight or what your GOAL weight is. My nutritionist said 60g, so that doesn't make sense... I'll habe to ask her if that's for a sedentary person? Also wondering if that 1g/pound is for someone that is working out like this? Should I be eating less to start out with, as I work up to exercise like this? Thats a drastic difference between 60-160g
