I don't know if this is even part of the Don Cherry Podcast or, if anyone reads this. But Thank you for putting out this podcast. My grandparents passed away several years ago and I never got the chance to actually talk to them. Listening to Don tell his stories is kinda like what I would imagine, listening to stories from my grandfather. He not only covers hockey, but his experiences, his life, his family, his support toward soldiers, police and fire fighters. The way he tells the story, he is able to paint the picture in my head, while I walk my dog listening on headphones. So again thank you.

I can't get enough of Eddie Shore stories. They sound hilarious today🤣 I used to see him at the Springfield games at the Civic Center after they moved from the Coliseum in the mid late 1970s . He would stand as bouncer at the door of the bar lounge. no one acted up. and after hearing the stories of him I was at the time hesitant to approach for his autograph. But It was after he had a stroke and he was basically a mellow guy then and generous. He saved the franchise here in 1975. Springfield Indians. of course its not welcomed to say Indians these days🙄 . He was quite a character yes. And walking by him in the lobby in intermissions I'd think of him as a historic.

I saw Eddie skate with Milton Schmidt, Dit Clapper, Woody Dumart,Ferny Flaman,Don McKinney & Johnny Pearson at the Braintree Ridge Arena. It was a charity game Bruins Old Timers vs. Braintree Hawks🏒approximately 1968. The old guy’s could still move it around pretty good! I heard about Milty and Eddie back in their day. They were tough! To have seen them as a youngster was a real great memory.🏒🥇⭐️

@@jeffplaysgames2596 wtf. Just because we want to hear these stories doesn’t mean we want to live thru that shit. I read Jack and a Bean Stalk today. Can you guess what I want? You’re right a bean stalk. You’re so smart.

@@jeffplaysgames2596 nobody was hurt In the retelling of these stories. You’re acting like we’re here torturing people. Everybody has crazy stories about the Eddie Shore but he is still highly respected. If he was such an evil man his name would be erased from the sports history books and the Hockey Hall of Fame. The AHL would also rename the Eddie Shore Award to something more friendly if he wasn’t held to such a high standard. The incident in 1933 is one of the most dangerous things to ever happen in hockey but after that he is still seen as one of hockey’s best. Sorry for killing 100 kittens by the way.
