One of my very favorite songs and performers. I was fortunate to see him in person in the late 70s. First row in a small venue.

Was fortunate to see him in Kingston, Ontario in October 1971 before the American Pie LP was released. He was the warm-up act for Blood Sweat and Tears and the crowd didn't welcome him as he came on the stage, a few feet from where I sat cross-legged front row on the floor. But he quickly won over the crowd and brought standing ovation after ovation, debuting a handful of songs from the coming record. I believe Vincent was one of them but i know American Pie was. he taught everyone the chorus and broke down sections of the audience to sing different parts, before anyone knew the song. When played it was stunning. On the way home we agreed we had to watch for the record's release, not knowing it would top the charts in a few weeks, and again in 1972. It was a simply amazing show at Queen's University that night. I can't imagine him performing at a lesser level now. Turning a mostly booing audience (due to Viet Nam war protesting) into multiple standing ovations was something to behold. I'm still hoping a live tape exists but that would be too surprising...

Bravo Don. I firmly believe that Van Gogh's modern popularity is directly due to this great song!🎸 I bought the American Pie album when it came out, I have been a big fan ever since! 🎨🖌 Many blessings sir!🙏

I saw a Van Gogh Exhibit last year in Adelaide and it was awesome. The only thing missing from the playlist was the Great Don McLean's Vincent. It would have been extra special.

I've just found out on VOA that you had a plan to have a tour on several Asian countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, but S.Korea. Why don't you have a concert in Seoul, Korea? Because here in S.Korea, as you know there are a huge fans of you. You'll be never disappointed to see them sing all of your songs during the concert, especially 'Vincent.'

They took this song out of the Immersive Exhibit in Jacksonville, Florida. It was in the day they opened. Today I went and they said they took it out to save time. I was so disappointed. The music was very powerful the opening day. It made me cry it was so powerful. Why would they remove it?

I know I do not fit in with the future because I renenber the past,, the environment is what I remember, of all things, who knew, , when ever home makes no sense to me, it must be me who is out of touch, I do not see what you see, no, when the sun melts the snow, I do nothing but watch it frezze again on the roof at sunset, so strange it frezzes and drys side walks, yet some chose to not understand cycle and cause ice to be an issue to attack lands, strange, , no I am not even worthy to ask why you built a home that hides the moon? it it hides the moon I found out it also hides the sun at some point in the orbit, I have a question, who do you think your hurting? I was taught to help people, this is why I do not be long, its my eyes, but how can you not see, same as for me as for you, that sun can hurt people, we know that, but taking it away from your lands can also hurt people, when will we learn? some of you put slabs where water should rest you claim foul my >3 thoughts are something is so wrong, its your slabs that keep it frozen and cause water issues, does not dry out properly, your front (WALL)+CONCRETE RETAING WALL WHEN IT SHOULD BE DIRT LAWN) so can let sun dry it, but no you well you know, cute, yes u could have the span dry but only use walk way and call foul>3 no was long ago I guess when I used to think na, but your united, to what, its your lands enjoy it

That is natural. We become old then accept whatever it will be. His voice is different, but his talent does not change.
