Great video, and you're absolutely right that it needs to be a short term strategy to make any sort of profit. Anyone holding modern long term thinking it's going to be anywhere close to a traditional "investment" are in for a rude awaking. The speculative nature of sports card buying/selling is something I wish more people would talk about.

Excellent video today. Loved it. Thinking now, and I have to be open to new thoughts and ideas. I began to realize..., That Yes: Cards Are Not In Fact Investments. Rather, within the definition of The Dancing Sheriff: His Position clearly, is a Collectible is Merely That. However: Because One Collector and Buyer of the beloved Cards has One Definition, That defintion unfortunately for and Others, often has Their Interpretation of Cards as.. Investment, or Investible. ...This is may be why, ..some who collect Only certain cards, tend to find their values, either increasing, decreasing, or one of the two, Thus the sense of confusion for some. In my experience: Because I was trained by a Master-Level Collector, I found my quary actually umm, ' quite inexpensive, but my methods and practices are infact, umm.. Different. Instead of throwing away base cards why not donate them? As for prospecting, that is one of the biggest risks, and most time consuming, in the hobby. I have a Matt Lapota Bowman Chrome Orange Refractor Auto /25. It was a 4 figure card when he was the next big thing. I paid $25 for it. On the other hand I pulled a 2001 Bowman Chrome Pujols Auto and sold it for $500 in 2002. It's all about timing and trying to predict the future.

Want to get your thoughts on something. What do you think about taking rather “worthless” cards of players who are Hall of Famers, fan favorites, All-Stars, MVP, ROY, etc., and getting their autographs on them to POTENTIALLY increase the value of the card? I highlight the word potential because there is no guarantee in any of this. I do this quite often just for my own enjoyment, but I do have some hope of selling them later for a little bit of money.

…… two thoughts on todays content: 1st/. You compare todays market to the 80’s market entirely too much man. I hate to break it to you, it’s a COMPLETELY different environment/ social media / pumpers / eScam, eBay….. IMO, it’s not even close, not to mention almost ZERO fundamentals for price points , etc. 2nd/. I understand you’re attempting to appeal to the kids and what not, but trying to teach children the difference between “prospecting” and “investing” WHEN THEY DONT EARN MONEY FOR THEMSELVES, is just a waste of time IMO……. Have you not watched the videos from recent National shows? Everyone of those brats was “IN IT FOR THE BANK” 👎🏻. Your already starting to show signs of catering to WHATEVER pushes your algorithm 🤨🤨 🍻.
