One of the main reasons why nice people struggle is they care about others and the others don't even think about them
@theCorporateDiaries7 ай бұрын
Absolutely and work place is not the place to go over the board in taking care of others because then people start taking you for granted... so just be kind with right boundaries and you will sail effortlessly..

You are 100% correct, nice people think every one is my team member only and helps in very very critical task but he never shows visibility/credit, but other people if 3:02 we just discuss what type task it is like also they populate as they helped us takes entire credit of work. Don't be too nice in corporate world. I am victim of that I know the pain of that, 3:02 due to that I lost all my pay and everything. Don't help anyone.

The context of the word "Nice" is important here. Here it means "Avoids conflict at all costs".
@SagarAbhishek7 ай бұрын
This is absolutely true. In today's world, being nice never or seldom works. Even if it works and the moment you deny somebody any help, all those people whom you have helped will turn against you and badmouth you. This corporate system is the worst thing in this world, especially in India . Only sycophancy works in india corporate system.
@storiesshubham41457 ай бұрын
I used to be the nice person...but now I have learned one fact "NO ONE REALLY CARES"...because I know that I myself also don't care about other's problems beyond a point and that's the same with others. No matter how much you help people, they will always forget because once a problem is solved, everyone moves onto solving new problems. So it's much more peaceful to not be nice 24x7. Focus on your own life, and help others only if it's feasible for you, and then forget that you helped...because we all have yet another problem to solve in life.

@OK-wb1dy6 ай бұрын
Well obviously you have to “forget” about it if you helped others. Why should you be keeping a score in the first place? Don’t think about it as “other people” and “me” . Thinking like that is isolationist. Think of it as a collective. Even if your help is not appreciated, it’s still something in the whole scheme of things. Time will come when it’s appreciated. Just look at appreciation as a bonus. Don’t expect it.

💯% agreed.. I don't know why, but i used to be frank with everyone and suddenly for some years in recent past i was being too nice, like tooooooo much..never worked in my favor though. Muhje nice(mahan) banne ka shock chadha tha shayaad 😅 then when life hits, being real serves better. 1 advice to anyone reading this is, stop thinking what others think about you bcoz they are not, everyone is thinking abt themselves, so just be you and thats the real power you got.

Hello Varsha, Thanks for all of your great videos. I recently retired from my job after working for 32 years for the City of New York. It got to the point where I basically had no interest in staying there any more, and management was terrible. Luckily I was able to do it financially, and will be getting a good pension. I'm now looking for a new, better opportunity, since I would like to have a second career. But I can now take my time and look for the right job. Much of what you say is applicable in America as well. Looking forward to your future videos!

Good people pay a very big price of being good and this is very true with respect to the cruel world. My manager used to scream and abuse at me for mistakes whereas other employees who were close to their manager used to make more mistakes than me but the manager never screamed and abused them. In fact they don't utter a single word to them. This happens with most of the kind hearted employees as most of the bad bosses abuse their kindness. This is the biggest unjust system in the corporate world where nice people suffer a lot 😢😢.

Don't hesitate to litigate and file charges with government agencies against your employer. Maintaining a professional relationship with an employment law attorney is key. It's never unprofessional to have your attorney communicate with the company. Don't say that you do not want to do a task, that's insubordination. Instead, recommend someone else that you believe is better suited for that task. Any exit from the company should have your attorney negotiate a payment in exchange for a covenant not to sue.

In 99.99% of vacancies posted currently, there are demand of only experienced candidates. Even if not such, then in the interview there are at least 5 to 6 experienced candidates as against 100 freshers. Whatever skill and how much proficiency one has, competition has reached a level that is becoming equivalent to Govt Job Competition. What would you say, Madam ?
