01:21 - intro 02:01 - cold open on discussion of people not quite getting that a work trip means _work_ and the parallels between buying/selling watches and drug dealing 12:00 - when did Adam start selling watches as a business and social media presence as a way to sell watches 19:16 - Adam: what's the dumbest question that people ask Matt all the time that he wishes they would stop? 22:46 - Adam wants to know more about Matt's Nodus Canyon and discussion on small watchmakers 33:05 - Matt has a tough time with vintage watches and getting flack for fashion choices 39:13 - Adam: when Matt goes to car events in southern CA, does he see a lot of vintage car guys also collecting vintage watches? and watch prices being based on incredibly minute details compared to cars 47:12 - Adam: does Matt think it's harder to be an expert on the minutia and details of watches or cars? and which watch nerds are the most nerds, and the ethics of unsolicited advice 52:43 - auction shenanigans and buying cars/watches sight unseen 1:00:56 - Matt: are big watches about to be cool again? and an Uno reverse from Adam on vintage cars coming back Patreon questions: 1:04:55 - I've got an early '60s Tudor Submariner 7928 with what appears to be an older replacement dial--why would someone go through the trouble of putting the right font and verbiage but leave off the Swiss markings? Could Tudor have done this? 1:06:00 - any chance of a green Canyon with a date? 1:06:54 - are there any options to change away from a metal bracelet on a Seiko Arctura? 1:09:13 - my father wants to gift his early '60s Longines Five Star Admiral 18k yellow gold and early '70s Tag Heuer Carrera with full metal bracelet to me and my brother, are there any other factors beside color and style to think about for choosing one? 1:10:33 - what is your money-no-object dream watch? 1:13:09 - what are the best and most unique timepiece/car intergrations you've seen in the automotive world? 1:14:48 - what are the best automotive influenced designs in the watch world? 1:15:55 - birth year watch--up to $20k, 1973 1:17:45 - are dive watches that don't see water the GT3 RS that never sees a track? 1:19:55 - a youtube referred to the Ioniq 5 N as a "hothatch," I have yet to see one in-person but it looks pretty big on-screen and I thought it was a CRV-type crossover, what car would you compare it to size-wise? 1:21:42 - outro

One comment about watches with hundreds of meters of extra water resistance beyond what people can survive. It doesn't take into account potential impacts and other sources of pressure that a dive watch can experience while underwater. I personally dive with a Seiko Darth Tuna, 1000m water resistance, and I broke it at 110ft when my watch and drysuit cuff got caught between rocks during some unexpected strong current. After the dive I was unable to turn the bezel and the crystal had been deflected enough to slow down the second hand.

The Flat 4 distinction isn't the reason for the increased price, it's actually just a distinguishing feature of the first series LV from 2003 (50th anniversary) that's the reason for the price difference not just the fact the 4 is different... surprised Adam didn't push back a bit on that fact... Same with the GMT long E or MF Subs etc

You guys should check out the Christopher Ward collection that has a design influence and piece of some of the most iconic cars from history. I think there was 4 may have been 1 or 2 more. There was definitely one inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO, a Jaguar D-type and Ford GT40. I have the C9GT40, and has a bit of one of the knock off wheel nuts in the back from the chassis that won the 66 and 67 le mans 24 hours. They were all really cool watches with a part of history actually in them....they were released about 10 years ago with very limited numbers not sure you'll find one for sale today. There was only 40 of the C9GT40 for example
