Interesting question. It’s definitely worth a try 👌

I made my own and used it for a while and it worked great for filming in 6k. My daughter broke it so I bought a $50 USD on Amazon from FilmCity because I don't have time to build another. It works great! I uses HQ beam splitter glass and works better than the beam splitter glass I ordered separately. Not sure why you get the glare from the camera side unless it's a lighting issue. I cant see spending any more than 50 USD for something so basic.
@TomsJurjaks2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you Ryan. Unfortunately my experience hasnt been so positive as yours. Also its extremely hard to clean these cheap plastic glass as the coverage of it is so fragile. I will check it out that FilmCity one as I am in a need for a better teleprompter as I do actually use it quite a lot.
@trolley-prototype2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's right. A perfect glass is a key to the teleprompter, it's not common glass, it should be a very good beam splitter glass with a special HD coating on the glass. The material should be tempered to avoid a break during transportation.

2:18 There is very simple fix to that: Don't wear a black shirt and sit in a dark environment. If there is enough light in the scene and text is not scrolling over a dark backdrop you're sorted 😉

I agree. I purchased Glide Gear T500 (for $250) back in 2017. I regret it. I had to modify it. I have to block all kinds of areas to DARKEN the inside (to see the tele from a distance). I want to use it outdoor. Does Not Work. So, what i have do is created an "CAVE" and wrapped it with a flexible black foam around the outside. I also blocked all the creavices so no light can come in. Also, gonna have a TRIPOD next to it HOLDING a Black Umbrella. Will be videoing in the SHADE. I think this will work. Would not buy the Glide Gear again.

Thanks my Danish neighbor (I am from Schleswig Holstein), that really helped understanding teleprompters. I was going to make a diy but of course now will not. It's not worth the effort and other's, who buys cheap buys double. It might hurt for a moment but will give me peace of mind in the long-run. Keep it up!

I have canon with 16-35 mm What your thoughts about good teleprompter to buy ?
@TomsJurjaks2 жыл бұрын
Good teleprompters cost a lot of money, unfortunately. I dont know anything that I can recommend in mid-level (good quality and low price).
@delftsurgery42583 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the video, Tom! I have experienced that the injection is to know how to use it whether the teleprompter is cheap or pricey, because I present using a cheap teleprompter and PPT Mirror software which levelled up my video quality, especially talkings, I speak freely and, of course, ‘‘get my messages across’’ in self -produced videos. I display my PowerPoint in reverse or flip it and put my tablet in the teleprompter, as I always have my whole concept in front of camera, I only use bullet points structure to avoid over-scripting myself, and the option is a definitive guide to master proper eye contact with viewers. Which leads my videos to be more natural and conversational.
@TomsJurjaks3 жыл бұрын
Thats a really really good idea Delft - I have never thought about putting a PPT instead of exact script on teleprompter. I must try this out soon! Thanks for the recommendation!

I got the Desview T3, it suits me well, although I definitely plan on upgrading soon because more and more of my content is relying on a Teleprompter. It is just not very fun to have such a small real estate for scrolling of text, I find myself rushing or pausing too much on my content. I assume with a big teleprompter like the GVM TQ-LD Pro it's a lot more ergonomic, but obviously, you also pay 8x the money. Desview is DEFINITELY fine to get started. Probably a good first investment, then reinvest into a GMV later on.
@TomsJurjaks2 жыл бұрын
Very decent approach you have my friend. I am also starting to use my teleprompter more and more and feel like I need a proper upgrade. Will look into your recommendation
@ÁzsiábaSzakadtam2 жыл бұрын
The main reason why T3 is better than others in the same category is that you can use 11" tablets, such as iPad m1. That allows quite large text to be diaplayed thus make the text readable from a distance (then no problem with the longer lenses plus you won't sit close to the camera)

It reflects the text in the lens because the mirror is poor quality @@Studio23creation also you can forget about cleaning it if there is a slightest dust particle. It is being used behind me to create a bit of color on the wall (not the main light on my face). If you wan't to get the best small LED light - get this: from SmallRig amzn.to/3Xmi9th I found it like a year ago and would not use any other small LED lights.
