I heard carrie call in yesterday, when I was driving home. She helped me realize how lucky and fortunate I am. I wish I could help her, but it feels like there is no end to stories like these. I think this show did more to help her than I could ever have with money alone.

At 60 I absolutely give a thumbs up to John’s view on buying back time. We are multi millionaire status and husband still working his career while most of our friends (much less net worth) are retired. His job is mostly work from home/work while traveling. Will continue until we make the decision that the job isn’t worth the time spent. However it has caused issues with the retired friends who are now counting pennies.

To Kim in Raleigh 01:46:00 - many attorneys will give a consultation for a small amount of money. In my area it’s about $100 or so for about an hour. Go with all information organized, bring documents, etc. Also, you might be able to find an attorney who will just review a property settlement agreement for a small amount of money. Research and ask around for the best divorce attorneys and see if you can get consultations and document review. If you can, go to about three of the best ones.

Caller with the loan re-payment plan, could likely go on the plan and simply pay back what they owe if they decided to leave? Generally plans like that would have it broken down monthly. Sometimes I feel like these guys get the blinders on and think in absolutes. If she is a good saver, she could make the payments to herself while on the plan, and if she decided to move jobs, she has it sitting there to pay her debt to the employer.

The second caller... the real estate agent. Why do Dave's crew never mention when you're selling your properties and earn a profit... that they will have to pay capital gains? If this lady sells her rental then uses the proceeds from that sale to pay off her other loans, she's still going to have to pay the capital gains tax. Now her and her husband can sell their primary and have up to 500k profits with no capital gains owed. That will be their best bet and then move into one of their rentals and be debt free. Anyways... why sell a money making machine to get on board with the baby steps? Honey!!! You doing the big girl steps right now. Keep those properties and continue doing what you're doing. Maybe I missed something important when my mind was saying, "Nooooooo!!!!!" Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know everything 🦧

@@DevHazy That's feelings.... not actual. You can always turn your rental into your primary. Most people who plans on liquidating their property they sell their primary cash it out, move in their rental, live in it for 2 years(you have to own it for at least 5 years), sell it after 2 years, move into the next rental for 2 years, sell and keep on doing it then they either stay in the last one or purchase one and stay in that forever and don't have to pay a capital gains tax. But you have to own each one at least 5 years and live in it for at least 2 years out of the five years. So all this lady is doing is selling to pay off debt and pay capital gains, so she can do the baby steps....🤣
