@Brandon Taylor the reason guys like chapman throw at players is because no one can throw at them. i don't care if chapman can't hit, i would want his ass at bat so that there is equal retribution. this guy throws a hundred mile an hour fastball at swisher and there is no punishment. tony conigliaro of the boston red sox had his career ended by one of these idiots. chapman is a closer so he never picks up a bat and if anyone deserves to have a pitch thrown at him it's him.

That second pitch was very, VERY dangerous. But, like I said, those are the "unspoken rules" of the game. If he hit Swisher, would he have killed him, no. Chapman has a cannon attached to his neck. That was very juvenile of him to throw at Swisher on the second pitch. The third and forth pitch proved his point.

You honestly cannot give him the second pitch. The first one, yes it slipped. But the second one was intentional. Maybe the first one was too, just not close enough to call. Chapman is a better pitcher than to be throwing two wild pitches right at Swish's head.

I'm not a fan of either team so having said that I don't think he was trying to hit him because you don't want to ever bring the tying (in this case) or winning run to the plate. Also pitchers can't EVER throw inside anymore without someone getting pissy. The strike zone is almost un-hittable Angie because it's so small. ALTHOUGH you can't throw inside at someone's head ever.

manuel medina He had one 30+ HR season, made one All-Star team and is a career .249 hitter with an average arm in the outfield. That 2009 WS team had Teixeira on it so Swish was primarily a bench player. Yes. He was a mediocre player and I'm an A's fan who remembers him with Oakland.

Not sure where you are getting your info, Swisher played over 150 games in 2009 and played in 5 of 6 games in the World Series that year and all 9 other playoff games prior to the WS. 9 consecutive 20 HR seasons from a switch hitter. Don't think your memory is as good as you think it is.

He made John Kruk with his silly antics at the AS game against Johnston look exactly like they were - a child's at-bat playing against men. Swisher is sort of obnoxious but he's a tough competitor, no doubt. For those of you who think any of this was intentional, you haven't seen him pitch enough. As a die hard Reds fan I can tell you, he is just WILD! Sometimes he still throws 8 straight balls. He bounces fastballs. He's just all over sometimes.
