havent watched the actual original vids (i have an anxiety disorder there is a chance it could lead me into a horrible anxiety spiral.) but the theories i like most about the series is that its all set up by the father as some kind of punishment for the yellow guy. and his friends (duck guy and red guy) are along for the ride and they get deeply traumatized in the process (Like when you're staying at a friends house and their parents do some fucked up shit and you just gotta watch in horror.) they eventually start realizing that "oh fuck this isnt normal. we've got to get out of here. red guy leaves first (seemingly) being the oldest of the trio. he has more freedom so he leaves but still tries to get the other two out of it. That's why i think he looks horrified when the father is there at the stand-up night. another theory i like (that could work with the previous theory) is that its kind of about being neurodivergent (specifically autistic. like weird arbitrary rules that make no sense but you have to follow these specific rules even if it feels like it physically hurts. there's a couple really good videos about both theories.

The last episode shows that the Red guy was trying to be an entertainer but the only person that gave him a shot at that was the Yellow guy's dad. He made a deal that he would have his son in the show in return for keeping the show alive. Yellow guy's father wants him to be in the show but has a bad way of telling stories meant for children, unlike the Red guy. The show then takes a dark turn, for both the audience and the cast. When the Red guy sees how bad it's gotten, he shuts down the show. However, the show was still his passion, so he ends up recreating the show where each cast member is now their favorite color. (I suggest watching Matpat's video on it for full context and explaination.)

I'll just tell give folks the basics about the story: basically, the yellow guys dad is the one running the show, using it to spread misinformation while also making it a way for him to torture his own son in particular. The red spaghetti guy was the original owner until yellow guys dad funded it and basically took over. At the end, red guy pulls the plug on the old show and reboots it solo, making it better. Every character gets to be whatever color they said was their favorite, it's not twisted anymore, and... Admittedly, due to red guy not having much money alone, the budget is tighter. That's why the end repeat of episode one has a pretty empty room. So, yeah. That's the story. Also supporting detail, there's a calendar in one episode showing what year it is. And June 19th? The day every episode takes place on? June 19th of the year shown on that calendar... Was *father's day*

The first season of the series is actually a critique on modern children‘s media and how grotesque and absurd it has gotten, twisted by the industry :D As implied in the last episode, with red guy being a creative soul with ideas for a children‘s show, selling his concepts to a corporation (older yellow guy), who in turn takes away the creator‘s creative freedom and twists his ideas to fit their ideas of common marketing and salability. Can’t wait for Kwite to watch the TV episodes - major jump in quality and even more enjoyable (and great, well delivered comedy) imo :]
