Really, this video highlights the issues with laptops, not sit stand desks(or makeshift variants).

good video. I knew of these issues, but a good thing somebody pointed them out for those who don't know

I've got a T2-L2 fusion and I've found that the only thing that keeps me from 'hanging' off of my fusion is to sit VERY upright with a way to change my foot position every couple of minutes. (I use a bar as a foot rest for that.) But the biggest thing is to get up and WALK - slowly and gently - frequently. I can't sit or stand in any position for any extreme length of time without pain, so I don't do that. I take a lot of breaks. Right now we're designing my office and I've got three desks worked into the plan. I'm going to be able to move from sitting upright, sitting reclined, and standing (with the keyboard and screens at the right heights) as often as I need to. The goal is that, at no point, am I holding any one position for more than an hour. And I'm still going to be taking frequent breaks.

Agree, head and elbow must be relaxed while work not in stress ow cause injuries pain. so desk must be properly designed to accommodate all

For this scenario it's easy. Put the laptop on the tan chair. Plug in an external keyboard put that on the black stool and put that under the tan chair.

But with a laptop, aren't you having to look down anyway, when wrists are in alignment?
@knives01ng3 жыл бұрын
Very true! there's nothing ergonomic about using a laptop. The best practice would be to use a desktop PC or use a docking system for a laptop for a long period of use.
@georgesjournal66943 жыл бұрын
You’ll need to get a separate mouse and keyboard that plug in with usb or wireless, it’s what I do.
@leanneabridged3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the replies, but I was simply making a point about how inclusion of a laptop was irrelevant (because of what you've mentioned)
@mundomagico77873 жыл бұрын
I think she mentioned get a separate keyboard for your laptop... as in your lap top at eye level would be your screen and your new wireless keyboard would be arm level

Thank you very much. Forearms must be parallel to the ground......get a separate keyboard. eyes must be level with top of screen.....elevate the screen to achieve this.
@AlainPilon2 жыл бұрын
nope. elbows should be just a little bit ABOVE the keyboard so the forearms are angled downward a little bit.

If you’re in IT just Get up every 20 minutes and move around. Stretch, side skips, high knees,basically get a little sweat bead going on every 20 minutes

Cuz no matter how you sit, too much of it is bad for you even if you’re in the most perfect position possible. Bodies are meant to be in movement 24/7

Sop!! yes small laptop keyboard and screen, now what if u have an adjustable arm for monitors and good ergonomic keyboard. And not jut somthing to support but have a real adjustable table. Well sorry but better the adjustable table, bueacuse u have the option to stand by pressing a bottom.
@vladi1475S3 жыл бұрын
You can simply use a separate monitor and keep your arm and your head in the right position. It’s a simple solution.

Lol why are you messing about with stools and chairs?! There are professional standing desks online that have two tiers... one for head height (Screen) and the other for keyboard height (Hands). Like the Harmoni standing desk for example.

It literally says it in the title...the video isn’t about actual standing desks, it’s about DIY aka makeshift ones that many people are doing at home and doing incorrectly.
