I am a fairly new subscriber . I absolutely love watching these videos .!!! As a child , in Los Angeles, many moons ago, my Grandmother actually had a small hive of Bee's that attached to the top of her Greenhouse .I actually loved watching them and sometimes would run down a pathway to see if I could get the Bee's attention !!! I would dare other kids to do it and they wouldn't ! Ha ! Fun memories.I have never been stung by a Bee. But a hornet and a Yellow jacket ...yes. NOT FUN ! But I am saddened that in Ohio where I now live , I do not see Bee's in my Garden that often, even though many of my Flowers are suppose to attract pollinators . It makes me sad to think the Bee's are dying off here. But ,glad to see they are alive and well in your Neck of the woods.! Your videos are fascinating ! Keep them coming . God Bless you and stay safe Mr. JP !

my 17 yr old son and I took a introduction to beekeeping Saturday. The bee keeper's meet once a month here at the agriculture center. October we start taking classes on how to keep bees. I'm not in it for honey production, I just love honey bees. so if I get 1 jar of honey a year I'm good ♥️

Years ago my dad tried raising bees but mites or something finally killed them. I`d help him get honey from the hives and they never stung me on purpose. I was stung only twice...once I stepped on one barefoot and another time one got caught in my hair. I used to sit close to the hives and watch the bees come and go and I fed them so maybe they recognized me as a friend? I want to get a hive for honey but I don`t have boxes or the rest of the gear anymore and no money to get it. Africanized bees are supposedly in parts of Louisiana now and with my luck I`d be the first guy to have them move into his hive. We used to have wild German bees in this area and we`d rob wild hives. Those are some vicious bees!

An awesome sight to see, just yesterday i witnessed my first virgin queen on her return mating flight. Lots of activity outside the hive, looking outside the kitchen window, i went to see. Took 2 stings just observing then saw the queen walking around on the outside of the broodbox.

Ok. How about I just freak out because all the other bees don't know what's up and won't leave me. Amazing that the bees didn't go major commando on you for absconding with their Queen. Bee1: Some human is moving our Queen. Bee2: I know. I'm scared. What do we do? Bee1: Well. Our number one priority is our Queen. So let's follow. I got a feeling this is all good. Bee2: I got a feeling too, and it just evicted all the yummy nectar I had for lunch all over that weed. I think we should attack. Bee1: We don't attack until we know our Queen is safe in the hive. Younguns always too quick to go to eat. You just hatched last week, didn't you? Bee2: Didn't you hear me, it was really yummy nectar?! Bee1: Alright, take a gang about 40 yards over yonder. Hold your position until I give the order to attack. Bee2: *Gathers friends and leads them in the opposite direction queen is headed.* Bee1: *Chuckles to himself.* That squirt will calm down by daybreak, or get pounced on by his friends for making them stay out of the hive all night. Meanwhile, I'm coming my Dear Queen!

@JPthebeeman
@JPthebeeman 3 жыл бұрын
I usually release them in front of the entrance or late evening. If she’s a mated queen she’ll likely make her way back to the hive. You release her stop the frames or in front of the entrance?
@canye2544
@canye2544 3 жыл бұрын
@@JPthebeeman I released her on the top of the frame, between 5-6 frame and tried let her crawl down by herself. But she fly in the air instead.. I couldn't find her in the hive yesterday, but the colony looks normal today.
