Bc statistically speaking counting cards vs just playing by the book gives you only .5% additional advantage in 3:2. Still good but it’s a lot of counting, frowned upon and only SLIGHTLY better than having fun playing by the book.

You should never question a decision in blackjack. Just pull up basic strategy chart on your phone. They don’t care if you use it. Mathematically you will lose the least amount of money following basic strategy if you’re flat betting. If you’re betting like I do you’ll get backed off within 30 min of raising your bet.

Doubling a 10 against a dealer 10 is not the way to go, your hoping for at best a push there. Surrender isn’t an option. Hit and then hit again. Take the L and move on. You’ll do much better over time if you learn the correct way to play.
