Intermittent Fasting Foodie

2 жыл бұрын

I have been asked to share another example of how I do a dow day and an up day. Here is my most recent example. It just so happened my "Up Day" landed on the first day of my period and I was battling sweet cravings.... so this is a very realistic idea of how some days go. Do I eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's everyday? Absolutely not. But when I do, I don't fret. While I did share my hours of fasting and my eating windows, I thought it would be helpful to share the time of day as well:
Windows on Down and Up Day:
Day before the Down Day - I closed my eating window at 10:10 PM
Down Day - I hit my minimum 18 hours fasted at 4:10 PM and opened my eating window immediately. I then closed my eating window at 4:24 PM. I hate my 500 calories in 14 minutes.
Up Day - I hit my minimum 18 hours fast at 10:24 AM, but fasted until 11:24 before opening my Up Day Eating Window. I then closed my eating window at 6:07 PM, for an eating window just shy of 6.5 hours.

I try not to think down day, up day, calories , apps for omad, timing , I just feel like it’s too much stress already. I just like to eat once a day every day lunchtime and that’s it. And I wanna cut down gluten/bread/sugar

I generally don’t either! The down days are the only time I count, and I found for me it’s a helpful tool helping me achieve the weight loss. I certainly could benefit from cutting down on those sugar, too!

Love that the salad is huge. I see other videos of people eating such small vegetable portions and don't understand why. If I eat a small omad meal then I will have a big juice or smoothie later if I still feel hungry. I have been doing intermittent fasting, omad and juice fast paired with hitt workouts and slowly see my abs shaping up.

My family calls my astronaut suit my Tella Tubby outfit!! I like the astronaut name better!!! Do you have your recipe for your Pita thing you made?? Love this video - very helpful. I'm at a stall so I'm thinking an up day / down day might be a great way to shake things up!! You make it seem totally doable...almost enjoyable!!!

Also...do you normally eat your down day with your family? Or do you eat dinner with your family?? I find that part really tricky!!
@FastingFoodie
@FastingFoodie 2 жыл бұрын
I have a video making that meal. I will link it. Tella Tubby 😂😂 it is fitting! I do not generally eat my down day meal with my family. I like to eat it middle of the day usually. I often also plan to have a down day on a meal I don’t love (like burgers are fine, but I don’t feel like I’m missing out personally). I do enjoy the down/up day variation. The extra freedom of an up day is nice, but I usually look forward to a normal fast the next day! (These are great to do with the up day falling on a special occasion day where you’d normally want to have a king eating window!)

Don't eat sugar. Sugar will make you hungry, that's what it's natural role is, to help animals gain weight. It comes from fruit, and it's typically available in the fall to help us gain weight to survive the yearly famine called winter. We evolved sensitive uric acid through a genetic mutation millions of years ago, and fructose raised uric acid. Keep up the good work! Also, you have to eat low carb to make fasting easier. High carb and fasting is a bad combination because it causes excess hunger.

How do your kids view your IF? Even if your window allows the cals is it REALLY healthy to eat an entire pint of ice cream? Not judging just trying to get educated with IF.✌
@FastingFoodie
@FastingFoodie 2 жыл бұрын
My kids are used to it, I’ve just explained I don’t need to eat all the time as I’m not growing and I feel better practicing IF. I also don’t talk about losing weight as an objective with them; just feeling better. I understand the question, but the reason I share what I eat is to illustrate I can make some better decisions (IF) even if everything else isn’t buttoned up and perfect. I want to encourage others that they don’t need to have a perfect diet in order to see benefits from intermittent fasting. I am not promoting eating a pint of ice cream as a healthy way of life; but in reality so many people will feel like they need to change everything at once and because that is so overwhelming they will change nothing. From my point of view it is better for me to practice intermittent fasting while eating this way instead of not practicing intermittent fasting and continuing to eat this way. I have dieted so many times where I restrict what I eat and eventually it is too much and I give up. With intermittent fasting if I have days where I eat a pint of ice cream (which is not usual) I don’t feel like a failure I just fast and move on the next day. Does that make sense? That’s why I am transparent

Holy shit.... How can u eat two pumpkin bread things and an entire bag of dumpling things, a truffle ,gummy bears, chex mix, 5 peanut butter cookies and a giant shawarma, and ice cream ??? ... Wtf.... I could never eat that in one day and not gain weight ? I would never be able to do that... I literally would just throw all that crap up...just looking and thinking about makes me want to puke....
