Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me comes from the album Caribou (1974) by Elton John. It's a great tune with lots of development throughout the track and has also been regarded as one of Elton John's most popular songs. The song reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a big hit in the mid-seventies. The song has also been recorded as a live version in 1986 on the album Live In Australia With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (1987) and of course as a duet with George Michael in 1991. They first performed the song together during the Live Aid concert in 1985.
The song is almost always to find in the live set either solo og along with the band. This version is inspired by solo versions from 1999/2000 as well as more recent solo versions.

All I need is vocals and some Ray Cooper-style percushion and I am back at the Royal Albert Hall in 1990- something. Superb! Your piano playing is something else.

I came out in 8th grade to my family and I know my father was devistated. For years we just couldn't see eye to eye on many things, no matter how hard he tried to change me and how hard I tried to get him to understand me. It wasn't until I gave up and denied myself to satisfy my father and all of those around me and in 2007 my son was born. It would be the last two years of my father's life that I reconnected with him and introduced him to my son. In that, I found that after all of the years that had passed, my father and I simply had to do one thing to make everything right and that was to love one another. In February 2021, my dad passed away. I listen to my son play his cello, accoustic and elctric guitar and I see myself and my dad in my son. When Elton John co-wrote this song in 1974 (one year after I was born), he was going through his own personal battle with somebody that he loved too. Life is so short my friends. I've been asked many times if there was anything that I would change if I could go back in time and I've always said no, but the truth is, there are many that I would. Thank you so much for your videos as I love every one of them. This one in particular is so bitter sweet and makes me cry everytime I hear you play it. I have it saved and I am one of your fans. Keep playing my friend....the lives you touch are many.

I can't light no more of your darkness All my pictures seem to fade to black and white I'm growing tired, and time stands still before me Frozen here on the ladder of my life Too late to save myself from falling I took a chance and changed your way of life But you misread my meaning when I met you Closed the door and left me blinded by the light Don't let the sun go down on me Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free But losing everything is like the sun going down on me I can't find, oh, the right romantic line But see me once and see the way I feel Don't discard me just because you think I mean you harm But these cuts I have, oh, they need love to help them heal Don't let the sun go down on me (Don't let the sun) Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free (Don't let the sun) But losing everything is like the sun going down on me Don't let the sun go down on me (Don't let the sun) Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free, yeah (Don't let the sun) But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

Big Elton John fan and play piano myself and many of eltons songs too, love that you play the accompaniment and don’t incorporate the melody in. I would love to see you do believe, mona Lisa’s or mad hatters. 😀

Hey Nord, Yamaha, Roland , Korg, Casio, Dexibell etc etc, why don’t you all just put an EJ preset using a standardised (like GM) soundest simlilar to this one on your products? Particularly given the impact this artist has had on popular piano music over the last 50+ years. What’s that .....? Oh! Ok folks it seems that useless stuff like harpsichord, pipe organ and dubious drum kit sounds/effects take precedent. Great rendition Lime - thankyou.

how does elton john make his piano sound so bright?
@LimeCovers
@LimeCovers 3 жыл бұрын
It's a layer of different piano sounds, but most prominent is the piano 1 from the MKS-20 sound module that produce the crisp sound with a lot of bite.

I use the piano 1 on the FP-4 and then I simply press the eq button and adjust the key touch from normal to light. Hope this helps.
