Wow, really fantastic! The low E string on that guitar sounds really nice, too.

If you don't mind sharing, what flatpick thickness do you like the best for bluegrass and adjacent styles? I usually go with my Blue Chip TD35, but I've been experimenting with much heavier picks lately. Also, do you prefer 80/20's or phosphor bronze strings (or something else)? I currently have light gauge Daddario EJ16s on my '37 J-35. Whatever your combination of pick and string choice, I'm very much a fan!

The thickness of pick depends a lot on the material used. I favor Wegen bluegrass picks in 1.2 for many instruments, and Wegen tricorners 1.4 for a few instruments. Blue Chip is a harder material so a pick that thick wouldn't work the same. Re: strings I almost always use phosphor bronze 13s. Thanks for listening!

@@michaeldaves635 Thank you for the insight! I agree that pick density can affect tone in fascinating ways-- I guess that's why tortoiseshell used to be all the rage back in the day. And definitely, I like the way mediums sound on these guitars-- I might check in with my luthier/ repairman about experimenting with mediums, especially since I've been jamming with a banjo player. Mine has a rather large "belly" behind the bridge; it seems stable, but it is something that I need to be watchful of.

@@Goodoldpal_ only for private students and those who sign up for the Zoom classes covering given material. I’d like to offer them more generally on some platform but that’s a whole project and will take time
