Veil is not a bad game but its inferiors to the Origins, you can argue combat is better or worse that is personal opinion but writing is much dumber, and people play rpg games for the story and writing and dialogue and choices. So yea people are hating or disappointed because its a diluted rpg of a franchise they love.

It is possible to get a single faction strength to moderate before the 1st major decision mentioned in your video. Have you tested to see if that impacts the early game? Like if shadow dragons are at moderate strength instead of weak and you go to Treviso to assist instead Minrathos. Will that change anything or is this a set scripted event you will always be unable to prepare for.

Tested it myself. It made no difference. It is a scripted choice where you have to make a choice to protect one or the other. It seems this is a core part of the game itself.

So far it’s honestly tied to GOTY with Helldivers 2 for me. My top would be- if you look at the skill tree, every ability you unlock also gives an extra 15% ability damage, so don’t totally ignore unlocking new abilities just because you have your designated 3, it gives you a fairly huge damage boost
