Super quick and raw video for you today. Nothing fancy here, just wanted to get the message out to those of you putting pH up/down directly into your nutrient solution. Adding pH up/down directly into the nutrient solution is a mistake that I've made before and I don't hear many people talk about this crucial step. Here is that video by Everest Fernandez that I spoke about within this video-> kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmbZfYB7ZbNga5Y Also... It's called flockulation it happens anytime you ad up to a fert solution to avoid do as you did or adjust the plane water first then add the fert and it will drop down. Flockulation is binding the fert molecules up too big to enter the roots it turns into something similar to gyprock turning cloudy and falling out of solution. Great tip I worked in a hydro store for over ten years and almost no one was aware of this

Hey man could you revisit this on a grow talk. Maybe like chemical reactions with nutes. You could talk about the ph cloudy again. Also include proper silica mixing so you don't make sand. And I also know about calcium locking out phosphorus or potassium if mixed in the wrong ratios. I'm trying to think of any other reactions to be aware of but I'm sure there's alot. Didnt you settle that phing is fine for microbes. But I think you get the jist, I think this would be a great topic.

Anytime you mix acid or base into a chemical compound you are always going to get a chemical reaction. That’s the point. Just because you deleted it doesn’t mean it’s not still doing the same thing. You see the cloud because it’s a high dose reaction but in reality when it’s diluted it’s a smaller scale but the same chemical reaction is still occurring
@m.feaver9604 жыл бұрын
Keep the water turning in one circular stirring motion while adding your droplets and it will cut down on the clouding tremendously. Very good thoughts though, diluting it would be the A+ way to go. So med.

Excellent advice Chris, It was a mistake I made thirty years ago and had to learn by myself because there was no internet back then. You new growers don't realize how good you have it with people Like Chris to steer you right. My first and last experience with adding potassium silicate was awful, It coagulated into a suspended sludge like substance (thats what the cloud Chris showed you) my pump distributed it throughout my system and plugged up drip lines and I had to scrape it off my rock wool so the water would go through it again, I replaced all of my spaghetti lines.

Gosh, I really wish I could talk to somebody about acidity and pH. What I would like to know is, do I need to start balancing my pH before I pour Foxfarm into soil or should I just follow the recommended chart regardless of how high my pH gets because my babies seem to keep disintegrating every time I does, even when I dial it back. It’s just a conundrum to me and I don’t want to mess up and I wanna get this figured out and how to convert fox farms for soil has been a journey; most definitely switching to Hydro in the next few years when I can afford it.

I don't, disagree However, for hydro, they make a ph monitor, it just drops ph up, or down, down usually straight into res. It don't mix it..... I always put straight in. But I always have a spoon stirring as I slowly pour. I would say that's ok. However, I'm sure it's best to never see a cloud lol
@scottarnold65283 жыл бұрын
After only a few watering's you should know how much of which product (Up or Down.) that you'll need to add to get within your pH range. Once you know that you can add your pH prior to mixing. Started doing that when I switched to well water, where I had to start using pH down & because it was acidic ( As apposed to pH up just being a base.) I figured that it would lock up easier and after I have my water measured out adding more water is just that extra water that throws off the formula (However minor that is.). Never really thought of it from a chemical reaction stand point.

@miguelbernardino73953 жыл бұрын
So what happens when if you don’t ph
@mr.eastcoastgrow61323 жыл бұрын
@@miguelbernardino7395 what do you mean? The basics of PH is this plants need diffrent nutrients for diffrent things. Like nitrogen for instance is needed more in vegetative stage than opposed to bloom stage. In bloom the plants not focused on building more biomass in leafs and branches its more focused on buds and flowers witch require more potassium and Phosphorus. And there's loads of other micronutrients as well the plant needs. Each nutrient has a certain PH range where it's easy for the plant to digest and eat. So in vegetative stage a ph of 5.8 to 6.0 makes it easier for the plant to get the nitrogen. In bloom around 6.0 -6.2 for phosphorus to be easier to eat. In general if your around 6 the plant has access to almost everything it needs. Now say you don't ph your nutrient solution and it's at 4.5 or 8.0. In them ranges the nutrients aren't readily accessible to the plant throwing the entire plant and rootzone into a state of shock and imbalance. The rootzone can manipulate ph a bit by itself due to adaptation but only a tiny bit to help. Bottom line is proper PH range allows your plant to eat the food it needs. Without it in range it can't. Thats really it.

I have an idea for a growing experiment divide your grow room six plants on the left side and sex on the left the six plants on your left use great white in the soil and foop on the foliage end the six plants on the right side use CO2 compost in the soil and CO2 foliage spray only foliage and see which side grows better the side where you're using microbes are the side that you're using CO2 in which you cannot use CO2 in microbe products on the same plant because CO2 kills microbes using great white or foop will the CO2 product is redundant because the CO2 kills the good stuff off inside those products
