When the CX-5 offer for 0%/60mo was pulled from the carbon edition I dang near cried. I’d be driving one as we speak if not for that

I didn’t see that coming either. Maybe they’ll offer it soon.

I just looked as a CX 5. It’s a decent vehicle but it just feels old. The tech interface is so dated and their 6 speed with only 24 mpg actual average will not age well. They also suffer from too many blind spots. Finally their cabin is about 60% of the size of a RAV4 and really feels cramped. The do have comfortable seats and they have a bit more guts, but I really am more shopping for an actual SUV (good mileage, decent ride, good space and modern tech). I mean they make CarPlay touch but not their actual interface, then they disable touch once you start driving. Why? I would just keep using my phone over blue tooth. They should have saved money and just not put in a screen if it was going to be worthless.

It can be enabled to work as a touch screen while driving and using Apple CarPlay

The knob and the shortcut buttons are easy to use as per mazda. It's a bit of a learning curve at first. But once you get used to it, it's second nature. If you remember, BMW had something similar in the past, as lexus had that "mouse" like thingy in their setup. Mazdas intent is for you to keep your eyes on the road... less distraction.
