Also if you need supplies like energy weapons or explosives you can explore the caves nesr the Yanktzee memorial and close to Goodsprings. I found one of those religious ghouls with a plasma pistol in his inventory, sometimes is a recharging rifle/ pistol or a plasma defender. And you get a lot of coyote meat to cook so you don't waste your little supplie of stimpacks.

Another bright follower can be find between sky diving shack and Sloan under a broken bridge. The energy weapon is always leveled and sometimes early game I've seen a Laser RCW on their bodies as well.

There's a lot of grenades right next to canyon wreckage entrance to lonesome road as well in the trailer.

Yeah those crates can give you more than a dozen grenades, theyre great.

West of the sunset sarsparilla hq, past the fiends guarding a weapon shipment for the gun runners, there's a shack surrounded by cazadores, and behind that shack there is even more cazadores surrounding a bag with a set of combat armor mkII in mid condition, and some other random loot

Pretty sure I haven't noticed it, by the time I'm high enough level not to get slaughtered by snake puppies and giant radscorpions I'm not keeping a look out for random loot boxes.

You're playing wrong. Once you're op you can soak damage while you finish looting, THEN clear any enemies you wish to bother yourself with.

I recently attempted an explosives run. Raul died whilst not a companion and I deleted the entire play trough because I realized that Raul never made it to his shack after Black Mountain. This realization was made 20 lvls after the black mountain incident.

I made the mistake of going into Morning Star Cave my first playthrough when I was like level 3. I'm sure the Nightstalkers had fun using my body as a chew toy, but I sure didn't.

Out of all my New Vegas play throughs, explosives was definitely my favorite run! If the game is going to crash anyways you might as well help with particle effects kaboom!!!

In the early game, especially at harder difficulty levels, nightstalkers can't be quite a challenge for low-level players with poor equipment. I'd make the argument that a few throwable explosives aren't worth the hassle of fighting the five nightstalkers that spawn outside the cave.
