Hey Martin do you ever get any old Hondas in the shop? I would enjoy watching you work on some of those.
@IndRepair6 ай бұрын
I do, don't work on a ton of push mowers myself anymore usually but I will keep an eye out for a good video candidate

Some of the harness connectors have a tamper switch built in which will prevent a switch bypass. Usually just a plastic clip and spring, which can be removed *for testing*...
@IndRepair6 ай бұрын
They sure do, these would be normally closed switches that have these safeties, or ones with more than 2 contacts. Great tip!

My 5450 dies when the steering handles are in operating condition is there a switch for the handles or is it the brake module?🤷🏻♂️
@IndRepair6 күн бұрын
There are switches for the handle but normally it is a bad seat switch, brake switch (if it has a separate parking brake), or PTO switch (switch you pull on the engage the blades). I see bad fuses, wiring or switches cause this often. I did not look up the model to see specifics but start by looking at fuses (some have a safety circuit fuse and others don't) then test switches next

Thanks for the video! I have a Z Master where it looks like the seat switch is riveted in. Or am I looking at it incorrectly??
@IndRepairКүн бұрын
Never seen one riveted in
@moorabindaКүн бұрын
@ Maybe I just need to get at it from the top. Certainly not easy to remove like the Timecutter. I bypassed the seat switch anyway. Unclear if it’s the problem as it tested ok, or if it’s further down the wiring somewhere.

I understand that completely

Markup on some stuff is a crazy thing...crazier is that almost nothing is actually made by the manufacturers anymore
