I think anyone should be aware of their surroundings and if people are following too close and there are other places to walk, they should do that. I'm sure the guards/military are acutely aware of what's going on around them. I'm not comfortable when strangers are following me too close either. You just never know people's intentions, especially in this day and time.

He had every right to speak to them and tell them to stop harassing him. If it was a female soldier (or just any female) with 2 men acting like that, we would all be 💯 behind her for asking them to leave her alone.

I live in San Diego County CA USA. We live near Camp Pendleton a large marine training base. Other members of the military i.e. Army, AF train there, as well as NATO forces. It’s cool to see them at the Oceanside Harbor grabbing lunch. Since they’re in their working uniforms (camos) not as spectacular as RG uniforms, they’re approachable. My honey is a retired Navy officer. We’ll strike a conversation thanking them for their service and asking where they’re from.. Always feel good moments.

Yeah, strolling around in Uniform is a risk.. On the other hand there's plenty of soldiers very near and armed police.. The Guards are all active serving Army and then I guess the sword if worst comes to worst?

As an ex-soldier I seriously question this officer’s right to challenge anyone walking on the same route as him, no matter how close they got. The UK is a free country governed by statute so I would ask him to explain what gives him the right to challenge, as they hardly posed a threat to a big brave soldier striding with his medal. To those who do not like my comment, I like some of my friends have scars and disabilities that bear testament to having served our nation actively overseas.

He has every right. If you watched the video they diverted frontheurcorig8bal path and listened yiu can hear them getting closer that soldier is currently serving and is right to present a challenge if he percieves a threat or a piss take . Good fir him

3 pips on shoulder is a captain and hard to see the medal ribbon but I suspect it's the coronation medal from last year but it's definitely not Afghanistan.

Nothing unusual just having a stroll in the park in my army uniform. There was a time where wearing your uniform waa illegal when outsude of rhe barracks. Guess times change those

He is returning to barracks not just taking a stroll in the park.. would you feel better if a car an another soldier had to take time to drive him back a short distance as the crow flys? If you can’t walk in your own country as a fear..you don’t need to be in the military or an officer. These are trained me.
