I served for 22 years and never had a problem, but there again they are wearing Cavalry Boots with Segs on the soles and heels, so I couldn’t honestly say what effect they have on your feet. God bless them anyway, it makes me proud to see how restraint they are with some of the Dickhead Tourists.

@@Markcain268 oops, your ignorance just slipped into view. This ‘comedy routine’ is a tradition established by King Charles the second and is performed by fully trained member of our Armed Services. In this Regiment you get to work in two very different branches of The Household Cavalry, the mounted division who handle all the ceremonial duties and the armoured division who have the same modern equipment as other regiments. Frankly despite the comments re this guard imo he’s the sloppiest one I’ve seen on Horseguards Parade, he’s leaning forward instead of keeping a straight back, doesn’t look good .

Unknown fact! The boots these guards wear are made by Sketchers and have special soles made from memory foam insoles and brass tacks on the outside to make nose when marching. Very comfortable to wear.

@@j.ksmith7432 Anonanon is talking "jackboot shit". The guards boots are indeed made by Schneider of Mayfair. The company took over Giddens in 1999. There is absolutely no connection between Schneider of Mayfair and the American brand Sketchers. After reading the post a few times I get the impression it was meant as some of sort humour rather than an actual fact.
