This brings me back. I had a Saint Bernard for many years. She had to groomed once a month. After her groom you had to tell her how beautiful she was and how good she smelled or she would ignore you until you did. 🤣

I was going to say the same thing we had a male St. Bernard. We didn’t take him to the groomers though, because he had too much anxiety. He really loves to be brushed because I calmed him down but we didn’t put him in a groomer situation because he had too much anxiety, seeing that thumbnail made me up cry we had to put him down December 3, 2021. He lived a good 10 years and his name was Samson. I would sleep with him when he became older on the bathroom floor I wanted to cherish every moment I had left of him. He was the first family dog i had. we put him down because he had a tumor. I came back home from school and even though I knew he was put down while I was at school and for some reason I still thought he was going to be there.

My mother told me that when she was 16, she asked my Nan if they could get a dog. The house was small and the garden was tiny but my Nan agreed to a little dog. My mother went to Battersea dogs home to rescue one. She came home with a St. Bernard because no one wanted him and he was unwell. Once the shock of having a small horse in the lounge wore off, they kept him. So glad they did. Great job as usual..the boy looked very handsome :)

Just wanted to say thank you for recommending the coral brush all the time--I broke down and bought one for my mom's two beastie Maine Coon mixes, and they were actually spooked at first because it was the first time a brush has ever made it past their compacted undercoats to the skin! Got almost an entire cat off of each, and now they're going to be matt free forever.

I put a bigger drain in, hung harnesses from the crossbeams, and had lukewarm water from the utility sink with the same nozzle she uses. Dried them with a shop vac, on which I put had a sound muffler for the dogs and myself. It was a great setup. On my own, I have a bathtub that doesn't really work and no lt nearly enough water pressure to penetrate a double coat. Gonna have to take them to a pet wash or groomer these days.

We bought tge first one from a pet store ( not something I'd do again, knowing what I now do about puppy mills) and she only lived to 6, taken by heart disease and cancer, but she was the gentlest, most maternal dog I've ever had, she loved children and cats, everyone and everything. Our second Saint was a rescue and she was extremely agile and athletic, good with people, not so good with strange dogs, but made it to 10 before her hips gave out. She was extremely active and energetic.

Like that young woman in Georgie who claimed to see a toddler running around loose and subsequently faked her own kidnapping. Whenever I see somebody like her who appears obsessed with posting selfies, my brain recognizes it as narcissistic behavior. Anyway, it costs a ton of money to have policeman searching for a lost toddler or a kidnapping victim, and pulls them away from solving other crimes or helping other people who are truly in distress.

@@texasgirl6000 I mean if you can keep your dog in pretty good condition by grooming them yourself, and professionally groom as needed that's good enough. Like in this case, owners probably though he needed professional groom. While the dog wasn't in best condition, it also wasn't bad. And who knows what the condition at home is. Maybe for some reason they could not groom him properly recently and decided to take him to professional instead.

This was the first time I've seen the "top" of the shower - and I've seen Vanessa wash some of her really big customers. Vanessa, you did an amazing solo job on this massive dog. Especially, since he was new to the "Vanessa Spa Experience". It is always inspiring to watch someone do what they are passionate about, while teaching the rest of of us. Thank you.

not a dog person myself, but your content is 1) entertaining, 2) educational, and 3) funny in a weird sort of way - you have a definite 'way' with animals for sure, it's kinda refreshing to hear you talk to them and see their responses...

I stumbled upon your channels last evening and spent a few hours watching videos. I don't why, I want intrigued by them. Found them very entertaining and relaxing. I love dogs, but am not a dog owner. I was also impressed by your providing you excellent services for free. I'm so glad that you are able to do that and thought it only appropriate to support this effort with at least a subscribe and like.

This made me miss our Saint Bernards. 😭 They were such good boys. Our second Saint would blow out his undercoat like mad every spring. We would take him outside and brush him for an hour to keep it from getting all over the living room. At the end of the hour, it looked like there had been a snowstorm and the birds would come grab the fluff for their nests.

We have 2 Great Pyrenees. Family always asks that we send the spring & summer "snow" pictures when we comb them out. We also hook clumps of fur to trees, bushes and fence holes for the birds. Day later they are all gone. Usually birds grab clumps as we move around the yard.

He loves the dryer!! It’s scratching all his itchy spots!! Vanessa, you are the absolute best. I love your patience and your grooming skills never cease to amaze me!! Your videos are all amazing, but, my all time fav was your doodle shave down. That dogs’ gratitude and relief as that blanket of hot, dirty mess was coming off was so “happifying” I almost cried🤣. You are the best!!!!! ❤❤❤

Nelson's a very good boy for the bath! I hope he stays good for everything else too...the title, however, tells me otherwise! As an autistic person, these videos are so nice to watch as the water sound and how calm you are is incredibly soothing! I've even accidentally picked up the way you say "sorry" as a part of my echolalia, particularly towards animals! Edit: Woohooo!! Good job Nelson, even if he was a bit of a barker!

Absolutely amazing job. I think a huge part of his comfort level in letting you do most anything to him, comes from your comfortable position mentally. You are relaxed and this makes him open to the whole procedure. I would simply die to have a dog like this. Though at 70 he would constantly be knocking me down. So......its fun to watch you do your thing and experience seeing these huge dogs. I admire your work...and look forward to seeing more dogs having their bath and being cared for by someone who really understands them.
