Oh thank goodness you took Gildarts passing the right way. I've seen reactions where people say Gildarts showed favoritism to Natsu, and that always drives me crazy. No it wasn't favoritism, he passed him because Natsu saw the danger in Gildarts and accepted the fear and surrendered.

Yeah in a situation like that being humble and back down is the only choice. Attacking would have been foolish, Gildarts too knew noone could beat him so he had to test in a different way.

Funny because while he "learned" this lesson from Gildarts now, Natsu still pretty much fights people who's basically unbeatable to him in the future (which some would turn out a victory because plot says so).

​@@ushijimawakatoshi1429true and sometimes it becomes predictable since Natsu doesn't learn a thing about "live to fight another day" and that's tue message Gildarts wants to imply here that you have another chance to defeat your opponent/s but as you said Natsu won due to plot alot and it becomes irritating sometimes.

Fairy tail isn't the kind of show where every character serves some sort of purpose, characters like Lisanna I find are often brought back just for the sake of happy endings and having fun in the background, and don't do much, but I've always been cool with that because I think it's nice that she doesn't need to serve some grand purpose to deserve a happy ending

I think they mixed it into a filler episode but Wendy has revealed that she hates Pickled Plums and sour things in general.

In the manga, that's just said on her mage card Because characters have on chap covers their card with their age, their magic, their favorite thing and their least favorite thing. I know : in the manga, we never learn how Wendy got defeated

Just a bit of backstory. So in the original script Lisanna was supposed to remain dead. There was no intention of bringing her back. But supposedly the editors pressured the author into finding a way to resurrect her into the story. It's the reason why her presence feels awkward sometimes.

Yeah fans of the anime really grew to love her because pieces were expanded on in the episodes focused on her. So, Mashima was kind of pressured into bringing her back.

Let’s just say the Mest plot line is really interesting. I loved how Evergreen caught Mira off guard with that fake proposal. When you find out the identity of the character with black hair you’re gonna think about the possibilities for his character. Seeing Natsu back down from Gildarts should tell you how strong he is cause he never backed down from the previous villains. To think you made it to the 100th episode 👏🏼

I think that Makarov was probably counting having Laxus and Mystogan to help... assuming he spends each year coming up with the next exam. From the 8 routes, 4 of them leads to battle between candidates. Not counting the serenity route, the others were meant for the S-class wizards. Well... Gildarts coming back home before the exam was an uncertainty and we have to consider that the events of the Battle of Fairy Tail and Edolas were unexpected. Without counting Gildarts, Fairy Tail used to have 4 S-class wizards. The serenity route was probably created because of Mira, leaving the other 3 routes that would be probably for Erza, Laxus and Mystogan. But Laxus was expelled and Mystogan returned to Edolas, leaving two routes empty. But since Mira recovered some of her fighting spirit and Gildarts returned, Makarov was able to keep his plans for the exam.

At least for me i call Levy and Gajeel ship "Gavy". Most fairy tail ships that i heard for some reason have two syllables, like NaLi, NaLu, Gruvia, ElfGreen, Jerza, AlBis (that would be Bisca and Alzack), etc.

About the only reason I could think of for bringing Lisanna back right now before this arc is a bit of foreshadowing in regards to something she has in common with another character, though that is a bit of a stretch. It depends on how far ahead Hiro planned things. The only other reason I can come up with involves needing her to be on the island for something I won't get into.

I think the only one that is able to really hold back is Mira... especially because she lost her edge after Lisanna's supposed "death". I mean, Gildarts has a hard time holding back (since his magic is too powerful) and Erza takes everything too much serious.

That's the problem with Natsu that he had to learn. His drive to win makes him blind to see which fight is winnable or not. Most of the times he just dives into a fight without even thinking of a plan. Cause if the test really requires them to ACTUALLY defeat an S Class, no one would really pass as of the moment (yes I'm also talking about Mira. That one's pretty stupid match). Gildarts actually taught Natsu this lesson because of Gildarts experience with the "Black Dragon" he lost to. If Natsu ever faced that, Natsu would die.

Gildarts is the most powerful wizard in Fairy Tail... even more powerful than Laxus (and he is already immensely powerful). The fact that he is constantly holding back his magic (and still being unable to contain it properly) is proof of that. But that makes me think... how powerful were the previous Fairy Tail S-class wizards from Gildart's generation? I mean... Fairy Tail must have had other S-class wizards, with them either leaving the guild or dying during a job. After all, Fairy Tail has existed for 98 years (by X784) and has had many wizards through the decades, including the founders of Quatro Cerberus and Blue Pegasus and that one former council member.

Lizana eventually falls off and eventuakky becomes a nobody character near the end. The end of the series gets a little wack, and can only be understood when high imp. Orherwise, a sober brain canr grasp the delulu that is the FT end. As for GajeelxLevi for a ship name i think used to be called BookSteel in a few fandom spaces. Or just Gavi lol

Triple digits, here we goooooo! 👆 Real humbling experience for Natsu, facing Gildarts and him basically giving Natsu a small case of trauma. But as the axiom goes, there’s always someone stronger, and it doesn’t get much stronger than Gildarts. Wendy hates sour things, especially pickled plums. Was kinda strange but like you said, wanted to beat her without actually ‘beating’ her. Mest. Mest. Mest… on one hand, he gets more hate than he deserves. On the other hand… it’s mostly deserved, There’s more to him beyond the strangeness and creep factor though. And we finally have a real meeting with, let’s call him Crybaby for now… Plenty of surprises and twists in this arc, one of the reasons it’s one of the highest fan rated arcs,
