Hey Mad Mike thanks for the heads up next time I do routine maintenance on my vehicle I'm going to get spark plugs from 3 auto parts store. And like you said get a magnifying glass times 20 to check them out thoroughly. 👍👍✌️🇺🇲

25 years ago I ran into a problem with brake master cylinder, went through 3 or 4, all reman. Last one took it apart and it still had cleaning sand in it. Different parts houses but all the same reman factory.

Had a brand new Bosch plug be the culprit of ignition misfires on one of my cars that had only 50k miles. About 2 weeks after routine maintenance and changing the plugs, the problem/codes surfaced. Using rational thinking "it cant be the plugs they're brand new and quality Bosch platinums), a new set of wires failed to fix it. Then a new coil pack failed to fix it. Finally, at wits end, I figured the only thing left is the brand new plugs. Changed them out with some NGKs and problem was solved. Haven't bought Bosch for almost 20 years now and probably never will again.

It's never worth using cheap plugs . Stick to ngk or Bosch

Champion never used to be low quality/cheap. Tbh I've only used Bosch or NGK in the past 40 years though.

@@SweetProjectCars You've reminded me: my first motorcycle, circa 1983, road element of MC test, pouring with rain, bike starts running on one cylinder. Luckily I passed the test. Took it back to the dealer as it was six months old, faulty NGK spark plug, new set fitted, all good.

NGK or Denso, Iridium material for any vehicle, in my opinion. Fun fact: NGK makes the spark plugs for HKS.

Years back I bought a new spark plug at a Honda dealership for my motorbike. They fitted it. On the way home then entire innards of the spark plug shot out just leaving the metal body. The spark plug lead swung round and hit my ankle... with the spark plug core still in it!

The problem is most parts available online are no name or cheap brands, it's hard to find genuine OEM, even if sellers say it is "genuine OEM"

@@SweetProjectCars yes no miracle products yet but there is a huge difference between champion vs ngk, denso and other more reliable brands. We had champion plugs from lawnmowers to cars, all crapped out fast:(

Thank you for sharing this. The lack of quality for new parts has been going down for a while. It's just getting worse and worse. Rebuilt my transmission in my truck and have a bad from the factory part in it that I have to replace.

It's kind of crazy that this video just come up I just replaced all my spark plugs in my 4.0 they were the original motorcraft spark plugs the centerpiece pulled right out of the spark plug they are a two-piece spark plug. I replaced them with the OEM but they did revise the spark plug.

Champion Plugs used to be the Go To but when they started making them in Mexico Quality went down the Drain, like my Toyota Corolla only gets Denso Plugs.

Wow. Never seen this before on a new plug, Mike. The quality overall is going down. On my BMW I used Lemförder suspension parts as an OEM replacement. But now they are made in China, it's crap! Now I search only for brands still made in Germany". Thanks for sharing and have a good one. Regards Nico.
