Danny, I'm 78 years old and this past Wednesday I shot my lowest round ever an 80 thanks to your fine instruction. I was swinging the club horizontally and not turning my front shoulder down toward the ball. As soon as I started doing this it helped bring the club up in the proper position so I could hit down on the ball. Thanks so much!!!

Agree...This is one of the more important ones for us older golfers. I have been working on Danny's swing drills for some time because I'm almost 71 years of age and his overall method is well geared for the older golfer with certain minor disabilities. Everything Danny talks about WORKS on the golf course where it matters. I'm hitting cleaner and easier with a lot more control than in my stronger years. It's also fun to go to the range and have people watching what I do, that is a direct complement to Danny...thanks.

Danny, you are an amazing coach! I am getting back into golf at 61 after not playing for 15 years. I was a 6-8 handicap when I stopped playing due to injury. After coming back, the distance I have been hitting the ball is demoralising and I couldn't figure out why. This video has put the pieces into place. Thank you! Just allowing my left heel to lift naturally has allowed me much better rotation. You don't see a heel lift these days due to golfers working hard flexibility from a young age. But the stars of yesteryear, Nicklaus, Snead etc all used to allow the left heel to lift.

This was the tip that made so much sense, to feel like you are moving right leg back not turning and to almost punch forward than attempt to turn. I get it’s a mind feeling but makes so much sense when doing it. The power feels so much stronger and stroke makes you not try to hit it but the ball just happens to be in the way of the stroke. Really love you focused on how we feel a shot rather that the true mechanics which are harder to visually absorb. Brilliant!

Absolutely brilliant Danny. Every step you describe seemingly explains the source of my arm swing problems Over 50 years of golf I have tried to improve my turn in the backswing and not understood the importance of sequencing my lower and upper body turns, so that my club does not get behind me and my body is not in the way in the downswing.Have got a little better that way but can see straight away that your method of rotation will be far better. Am 78 years old now but am off on a golf school next week and will work on your recommended moves every day hoping for a big improvement. Excellent, excellent video ! This rotation movement works extremely well. It adds yardage AND is easier on your back than an unbalanced "arm" swing. I'm 76 with three lower back surgeries and two knee replacements and I'm hitting the ball better, and feeling much better, than I have in many, many years. Give it a serious try, you won't regret it !!

The two keys for me were the right back pocket pulled back then continued rotation to the target. Many instructors simply tell you to move the pocket back. Continuing the turn toward the target results in improved balance and the incremental stored power is incredible. Also the "stop" on the downswing is brilliant and so well explained. Transfers more power to the back of the ball instead of losing it in a side swiping motion.

It’s less common now because PGA tour players are in the gym every day working on strength and flexibility. Something the club player rarely gets the opportunity to do

Hi Danny, I started watching your videos about two years ago then broke my right elbow in a cycling accident just before my 2020 golf season started. I'm just now getting back to the course after multiple surgeries and loads of physical therapy. I've played a couple of times (without pain!) but have noticed I've lost some function in my right elbow (elbow rotation and extension). I seem to have a tendency now to pull shots to the left...(I blame that on the lack of extension of my right arm on follow through). I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I'm working on it with the help of your videos. I'm excited to get back to the course this year and practice some of your drills to improve my swing. Thanks so much for creating the videos and keeping it simple. Scott Ferguson Illinois, USA

Dear Danny, you speak of a sensation. And it is a sensation. For years I have been trying to find the missing piece of the puzzle in my golf game. I have studied over 100 golf videos from great golf instructors. From weight transfer, to the importance of the right and left arm, to hip rotation and the use of the wrists, I have tried to implement all the tips that have been offered. With reasonable success. Your tip to turn the right buttock towards the target during the backswing was indeed the key. It's as simple as it is ingenious. For the first time in my golfing life, I was able to really turn it up with the corresponding impact.Today I went to the golf course to implement your tip and I played 3 pars on the first 5 holes. My gratitude is hard to describe. The Lord bless you.

Danny, I've been watching your lessons off and on for a few years and really like your mostly non-technical approach to the golf swing. The other day on the range I combined some of your thoughts with one that I heard from my first few years playing golf about 50yrs ago, which was not to break the glass wall behind you on your backswing. (The same idea that you gave in one your lessons when warned about keeping your upper arms too attached to your chest through the entire swing.) So the thought I came up with was "turn your ass, wait...and don't break the glass". The combination of the right rear pocket back, a little pause and a more upright plane made for straight shots and a full release of the club which I'd been struggling with. Thanks, Danny

Then did exactly same sort of thing as you did today. Pro said I was using arms too much so worked on the back swing like you did today. And the results were tremendous. A very interesting video Danny! I like the idea of taking the rear right rear pocket back on the backswing, taking the shoulders out of the equation. Danny, I can finally report back after watching and working on this lesson. After watch Michael Bennet smoke iron shots by just throwing his club into the ball, in conjunction with this outstanding lesson, the combination sent me and these feels to the practice tee. My feel keys that have significantly helped my ball striking over this season have been: 1) grips pressure feel is 80% of take away with left hand and 3 fingers, 2) feel as if my back gets 1 inch closer to the target and the top and 3) feel my release with hands going left. All finally came together over the past month, now moving my 59 year old ass back from the 3 tees (6,300 yds) to the 2 tees (6850 yds) and playing the same game! Thanks Danny!

@@DanielMaude I can’t wait! I just feel uncomfortable with the driver, I think I have to go back to basics (grip, stance, shaft alignment at address); my drives either snap hook 🪝 or go straight right - very few in between.

Tip3 is really interesting! You nailed the challenge of firing the hips for me. I am going to practice this today. Thanks Danny

Another excellent explanation of how the hips move. Short story. The other day I am out playing and am paired with a young man. Quite obvious he has a nice swing and very good speed On the 2nd hole he apologizes a bit as his short game is not a match for his full swing. He had only been playing 2 years. I was amazed and said so and told him he must be a very good athlete. He said he played baseball in college. I play to a single digit. He later asked some questions about the swing and I explained it was more like pitching rather than batting. He said great. I was a pitcher. I told him that was the end of the lesson. He knew more than me. I did say that most baseball players who were excellent golfers like John Smoltz were pitchers and most (American) football players who were good golfers were quarterbacks like Tony Romo. Your examples of throwing to hitting a golf ball are dead on.

Another great video. It’s definitely a fault of mine in turning around rather than upwards and then turning shoulders first. A great memory jogger for me this one. Great explanations as always.
