Good video. I don't like how Kensui advertises these as calibrated, when they are not. While machining is nice, calibration means going back in after the fact and addint weight as necessary to get it to the standard +/- 10g rating as you mentioned. I don't believe Xmaster claims calibrated.
@myyrkezaanАй бұрын
Xmaster states 1% tolerance, IPF standard is 0.25%. EDIT: Xmark to Xmaster
@BasementBrandonАй бұрын
@@myyrkezaan Xmark or Xmaster? From what I see on Xmasters site they claim +/- 15g, which is close, but still not calibrated.
@kgsonlyАй бұрын
@@BasementBrandon IPF allows 0.25% so even 50g on a 20kg plate, so they exceed the IPF rating, 10 grams is for 2.5kg plates. sure other places offer 10g but that's in excess of what's needed in comp.
@kgsonlyАй бұрын
@@myyrkezaan yeah, I dunno why bro is acting like they aren't calibrated, they fit the IPF spec which is 50 grams for a 20kg plate

Thanks for the info! What are other white label items, esp benches, I’m in the market ?
@calvinlawn3457Ай бұрын
I have XMasters: 3 pairs of the 45’s and 1 pair of the 25’s. I may complete the set on their next big sale. I like that they’re thin. Because they’re so thin, I recommend spending the extra for the grip version. While it’s not super ergonomic (they went with a hexagonal design), it’s much easier to grab the plates. I don’t think I could go back to non-grip plates. Also, since you’re only grabbing in the same two spots, they’ll probably get less finger prints on them. The hole tolerance is very tight, maybe a bit too much. They ring if you hit them, which may be annoying to some. If you decide to buy them, I found that you might save money if you play around with splitting up the order (I think this is to avoid the threshold for freight). I saved a fair amount by doing an order of (1x45, 1x25) and (2x45). I’ll note that they are also packaged well. If you get a big order (4-5x45s or more, I’d guess) then freight may be the most cost effective.

They ship "free" now.

@@GlucksGym I paid $875 for what I got. Now it'd be $1,060. That's about ~21% more. Both are with a 15% off sale. Maybe for some people it's an improvement, but I'm glad I got them before this change.

I work out in a very tight space, I have to use the rogue stump barbell which has very limited sleeve length after a collar is on. My options are very limited with plates. I basically have the choice of these or the usual calibrated coloured plates, I don't like the coloured plates so that leaves these.
@MeepMeep88Ай бұрын
Not a fan of how skinny they are and with the colored bands going down the middle. But it makes sense since they're calibrated. Wish more companies would make normal cast iron chrome plates. I only know one company that does, Mayhem Strength and they cost a crap ton more for some odd reason.

Kensui Fitness has some quality issues. The worst exercise equipment I have ever purchased is the Kensui Fitness AdjustaMace that broke the first time I put weight plates on it. Kensui Fitness claimed that it was made out of a strong and durable wood but it isn't. The unfinished wood also absorbs sweat, dirt, grime, and moisture. It is also over-priced at $69. I bought an Arm Assassin Strength Shop loadable steel mace, which is far stronger and durable than the Kensui Fitness AdjustaMace is, for $50.

Xmaster going with non-curved text lowers their felt value a lot. I mean... making such nice plates and then ruin it with such ugly printing... I don't get it. It looks cheap to me. Also, not sure if it's the lighting or not but it appears like the Xmaster are nickel plated, not chrome plated or at least the composition of the plating appears to be different from the Kensui. As for the rubber ring on their circumference - while that surely will last a while if the quality of that rubber is good paint might have been the better option. Even if that chips of partially, there should be still enough left of it but when the rubber ring breaks, it's gone completely. Also, paint should've been much cheaper than the rubber rings. But that's just my 2 cents. (Either way, I'd take the Xmaster over others anyways but while I love the Kensui I only like the Xmaster more than regular plates - but that ugly print is a huge bummer.)
