@@greenshirt2077 (edits to correct my terrible sentences) Bar/tavern is a classic, but even DMs might need to be remembered that every place can be a dungeon, and the "tavern" is a scene, not a place. Had plenty of fun once because the "tavern" was a full blown medieval festival. The harvest season had the whole fiefdom gathered: surplus grains to sell, tools to repair, deals to make, promises to break, marriages to be blessed at the temples, the lord had cases to judge and his knights wanted the public to see their jousts and duels (and judicial duels as they accepted being champions for the parties involved at the judged cases). This of course attracted snake-oil crooks... The whole thing was surprisingly light on fighting, the whole party got together very easily and had plenty of opportunities to get XP without too much risk of dying, because low level lethality. And one can be creative even with skeletons. Make them sentient, bored for a decade, inventing carvings, casting bronze over their skulls and using plaster to substitute the lack of anatomical differences, going through the motions of being evil this century but yearning for a better way to spend their time. Even the ol' skeleton can surprise then.
