We (the US) recognize his right and duty to defend his nation's citizens, and as an independent nation we are allies with, we really have little sway over his decisions as Commander in Chief of his own nation's forces or how he deals with what is now a widening theater of war, due to neighboring countries attacking his nation. He is sworn to protect his citizens, as I think all leaders of all nations are, so until the threats to his citizens have abated, he will continue to fight, yes. As he should, and as he has sworn to do. He has not expanded this war, his neighbors are the ones doing that. I have no doubt whatsoever that he wants this ended, but ended in such a way that his citizens are returned (the hostages) and his nation is once again at least minimally safe from further outrages such as what happened a year ago.
