"Donald Trump spent first two decades of his working life accomplishing things that many said could not be done" ... He Still Does. "At the end of his book, he promised to continue to put two of his best skills to good use: overcoming obstacles and motivating people to do their best work"... Yes, He fulfilled it.

"Donald Trump spent first two decades of his working life accomplishing things that many said could not be done" There are few people who have bankrupted as many companies as he has and were forced to shut down their "charity" because it was not one and his "university" for the same reason. I have never seen anyone lie as constantly as Dawdling Donald.

Great one dude. Trump is super controversial but I always found him interesting. I read his book called How To Get Rich or something and he seemed like a decent dude and not what was portrayed in the media. I haven't seen much of him beyond his political races lately though. If he wins it'll be some mayhem

Hi guys, A rather controversial figure this week. Before becoming the most polarising figure in politics, nearly 30 years ago Donald Trump authored one of the most successful business book of all time. Trump: The Art of the Deal was written in 1987 with the journalist Tony Schwartz. The next book summary is on someone who many would say is the opposite of Trump - Mahatma Gandhi, who led a country to independence and inspired civil rights movements across the world.

It is a good book to read for anyone in business,sales, or marketing. I must say it felt much more like a documentary 80 percent of the time rather than explaining of how his direct pitches went,negotiating, and closing occurs. You do learn a lot about real estate, Trumps family ties, known business deals and his landmarks. You get more about learning the sales pointers from Zig Ziglar or Brian Tracy if anyone is looking. So I saw this book as way more of the life of Trump rather than a how to and that may seem obvious but this is just more detailed of a comment on that.

Bargain tutorial: Step 1; fishing The waiting game, this is where most of the time is spent, but once a good target has sough you out, it will yearn for the thing sold Step 2; initial deal In this part there usually is a deal made, and if this deal is already not satisfactory(tho this can only all be repeated a singular time, this isnt some videogame)you give a light refusal, a simple : "nah sry" , Step 3: denial and if the buyer is not wanting this light refusal will sort them away, howerver : if the buyer is actively seeking that item , they will start to raise prices, Step4 :bargain You can go back and fourth once, for example the first was 25 After refusal they will add 10 :35 to sweaten the deal And to add your own extra you add another step of 10 45 Insisting on this inflated price will only drive away people, so if they lower for example 40, you can recomend a compromise at 42.5 Step 5:transaction If all goes according to plan and order the trade happens as bargained , and you stand to likely profit Ty on reading how i sold a many axe for 42.5k

I love your videos. Just found your channel today and have been watching a few, starting with the McDonalds one; which was fascinating. I just think it is worth mentioned that The Art of the Deal was written just prior to Trump's first Bankruptcy claim (The Trump Taj Mahal - 1991) Followed by another three Bankruptcies in other major businesses he owned. www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/sep/21/carly-fiorina/trumps-four-bankruptcies/ I've read a lot of analysis around Trump that suggests that since his business failures, he decided to dramatically change the way he did business, by taking a lot less risks and rather just selling the name "TRUMP" to other, more succesful business owners for mutual benefit. Further, there are analyses done by economics experts that suggest Trumps capital growth is BELOW that S&P 500 growth rate. Meaning that if he'd just dumped all his money in 1987 into Index Funds he would have done a LOT better than by making his own investing decisions. fortune.com/2015/08/20/donald-trump-index-funds/

Hi Jesse, thanks for the detailed comment. Some valid points there well worth making. As it was a book summary, for the purposes for this video I wanted to stick to what was described in the book (all events pre-1987) but I think it is important that people get the full picture when studying individuals, so thanks for raising these points.
@jessthehuman

Hi There. Thanks for the reply - I much appreciate it ! And I completely agree and empathise with what you're saying. I guess the main reason I raised the issues are because they're were relevant, not because they were defamatory. I may not be a fan of the man, but I wouldn't have commented for example "and then he want on to grab women by the p....". Or (this is fictional) I wouldn't have written "10 years later he became a heroin addict and lost his whole fortune." Because, while both of those things are interesting facts about the man, they're irrelevant to the context of the book. However, a book titled "The Art of the Deal" that essentially details his business prowess to be released only a few short years before his catastrophic business failures, I think that is very contextually relevant, It would be worth keep in mind for anyone readin that book, that it is possible that some, maybe a lot, maybe all of the advice in the book may actually ultimately lead to a pathway to business failure, not success.. Anyway - just thought I'd say, that is why I thought it was worth commenting, I wasn't just Trump-Bashing (although I do loathe the man). Further, unlike 'haters"- I cited my sources, because if you can't do that, you might as well just literally type by sitting on your keyboard, if you know what I mean. EDIT: I have not read the book. So treat this comment as flippant. But perhaps the book should now be viewed as a guide as what not to do in business!

Interesting thoughts. The concepts summarized in this video are pretty general and I imagine most people in business follow them to some extent, ie incentivizing employees based on performance etc. So no big secrets here. I imagine every person who develops real estate has successes and failures. If I remember right, the founder of GM was a millionaire and bankrupt several times in his life. So, yeah, hard to dispute that as a person Trump has some very serious character flaws. What draws people to him is he is unlike most politicians with his boisterous and unrelenting belief in his opinions as to how things should be done. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
