What the fuck is this welfare meme? The first thing they ask you for when applying is whether or not you're a US citizen, and you have to prove citizenship. There are cases where non-citizens can get aid, but it's usually very specific cases. I've never seen a news story that's reputable saying a super huge amount of immigrants are actually just soaking up welfare, isn't that just a right wing meme?

Couldn't make it much into the video because of the massive misinformation he attempted to spread by stating before Japan attacked Japan's reasons for attacking were "they saw America as weak!". What a stupid rhetoric, which is intentionally misleading so people think "well if they had a military they wouldnt have been attacked, spend more money on the military!". Actually, let's take a look at why Japan attacked the US in a simple to understand step by step number format... 1. The US cut off oil supply to Japan, something Japan DESPERATELY would need as they were involved in WW2 at the time (the US was not). 2. Yamamoto (Japanese general) thought the US would become involved sooner or later, and would prove a difficult enemy as they had a strong navy and knowledge of the Pacific. 3. Yamamoto believed attacking Pearl Harbor could greatly cripple the US, in enough time for the axis powers to win the war and/or enough time for Japan to properly maneuver against them. Yamamoto himself actually predicted the fall of his own country in the war with a famous quote, a quote that DIRECTLY disputes what this tard tried to pass off as truth. This quote was never proved to have been said by Yamamoto, but encapsulated his actual thoughts well. "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." As to what he actually believed, with cited evidence... "Yamamoto believed that Japan could not win a protracted war with the US. Moreover, he seems later to have believed that the Pearl Harbor attack had been a blunder-even though he was the person who came up with the idea of a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. It is recorded that "Yamamoto alone" (while all his staff members were celebrating) spent the day after Pearl Harbor "sunk in apparent depression". He is also known to have been upset by the bungling of the Foreign Ministry which led to the attack happening while the countries were technically at peace, thus making the incident an unprovoked sneak attack that would certainly enrage the Americans." Essentially Yamamoto knew due to long-range air craft carriers (naval ships) they wouldn't win a prolonged war, due to the effectiveness at them not needing as much fuel/supplies as well as combat effectiveness. So he certainly recognized America as quite powerful, before WW2.

Japan also thought they would essentially cripple the entire navy by taking out most of our massive battleships, which they did by attacking Pearl Harbor. The Japanese were not able to predict that Aircraft Carriers would be the main method of battle in the Pacific Theater since ships seldom saw one another due to planes scouting.

Weren't the US battleships and aircraft carriers the primary targets of Japan's attack? If I recall correctly, the Japanese had bad Intel and though the carriers were anchored at Pearl Harbor, when in fact they were not. the maternal death rate claim was kinda interesting, so i looked into it a bit. The UK definition of maternal mortality rates is far more encompassing than the US. They include things such as suicide, and malignancy which shoot their numbers way up. If you compare the individual rates for things that they both actually measure(such as preclampsia) unsurprisingly, the UK does better than the US in every area. .

The way different countries/states/organizations... etc, collect statistics can sometimes inflate or deflate the stats relative to other countries. I'm sure that applies on more local levels as well like comparisons between states or provinces within countries. That's not to say statistics are irrelevant or anything obviously. On the contrary, we need them to make rational policy decisions. Yeah, because it's Mexico's responsibility to run their own country. Not the Americans. Their northern border with the United States is a political pressure valve to keep the lower class of mexico from rising up and starting some kind of political reformation to fix their country. It keeps the politicians in Mexico in power along with the cartel. It would not nearly be as easy for drug lords to get drugs across if we simultaneously built a high tech southern border wall along with beefing up border security and actually enforcing our immigration laws. If we simply adopt a more economically conscientious immigration reform plan like RAISE, while also maintaining a large wall with a larger border security force that patrols the air, the sea around the border and the border itself above and below ground, we would see serious results. Japan is doing fine and they have tough immigration policies, so is Australia, so is Israel. Why are the Americans the only ones not allowed to have economically conscientious immigration reform? At the end of the day Mexican illegal immigration and overstaying visas is a product of american and Mexican policies that made sure business owners and farmers could rake in the cash and employ under minimum wage workers. The whole thing is corrupt and it needs to stop, neither you nor Destiny should support these kinds of policies. At the end of the day you just think were racist for wanting tougher immigration policies, and you don't view the illegal immigration as severe as it actually is. You don't understand the complicated web of issues that illegal immigration is linked to that would be fixed if we simply enforced the law, as we are a nation of laws. You don't understand the issues that it causes and you don't care. You're just against everything with a Trump stamp on it.

Seems like neither person knows much about Mexico and it’s politics. Mexico doesn’t ask America for military help defeating the cartel because their policies lean more toward the legalization of illegal drugs. They know the drug war doesn’t work and there are many cases proving that the legalization of illegal drugs also has a correlation for a reduction in drug related crime. Whereas the United States still has this stupid idea that we are going to win the drug war and we just never will. Thus, we can’t see eye to eye.

TheMouseAvenger yeah we did that in the 1980s tell me is it working? doesn't seem like it plus let's be honest the war on drugs started with the with the CIA bringing in drugs to inner-city neighborhoods and the war has mainly been to imprison blacks and minorities. as for the war on terror yeah let's fight a war we partly caused in the first place and support terror groups that totally won't turn against us in the future. better yet let fight a concept: TERROR you know terrorism the thing the US is sometimes considered to be supporting even as we say other countries support terrorism. back to drugs, legalization would fix a lot of problems and cut the cartels in Mexico off from their main profit base but that won't happen on a federal level that is needed Colorado notwithstanding.

Actually, when the World Trade Organization funds projects in the underdeveloped world it has led to massive corruption in places like the Congo and Zaire, where banana republics spring up, put those dollars in their own pocket with kickbacks, etc. The projects that are funded are infrastructure designed to get raw materials out, not projects to foster trade on the African continent, or to help Africa develop a manufacturing infrastructure to improve employment and standard of living among their people. Once these tinpot dictators are gone, the people are left with huge amounts of debt that they cannot repay because the development didn't go to places that would benefit communities. Then what happens is a structural adjustment program is instituted to leverage what little these countries have to pay back the debt, this means that these people cannot implement health programs, or build schools, or invest in bettering their situation with social programs because their meager taxes go to pay off the debts. When the USA gives aid to countries it is usually military aid. There are some prominent exceptions. For example, our funding for AIDs drugs to African nations was an important way we helped African nations. But even that aid has a disgusting side to it. South Africa said that they were going to break intellectual property rights laws and start making AIDs drugs at cost for their people, the reason we sent them drugs was to stave off South Africa from making them. Basically, we were propping up pharmaceuticals. The US exists for world bankers and to enforce the will of Big Business. We do not do humanitarian aid for the sake of being nice.

On the argument over maternal mortality: Don says that the US includes all deaths up to year following the end of a pregnancy while the UK only counts them 42 days following the end of a pregnancy, and this is the reason why the US rates are higher. To try and support this, he cites stats from the CDC’s Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System (PMSS) for “pregnancy-related deaths” and then tries to compare it to UK stats. This is always going to be pretty fraught with problems due to differing definition, for example the causes of deaths that are included as being related to the pregnancy - for example, the UK definition include suicide while the US doesn’t. Rather than trying to crudely add up and compare different statistics, doesn’t it make more sense to compare stats that are deliberately counted in a much more similar way in order to be comparable? For instance, Don could have looked up the National Vital Statistics System’s (NVSS) report entitled “Maternal Mortality in the United States: Changes in Coding, Publication, and Data Release, 2018”. This report makes it explicitly clear that while the PMSS counts “pregnancy-related deaths”, the NVSS counts “maternal mortality”, which might sound the same but are quite different. The former counts all deaths within a year of the end of a pregnancy, while the latter counts all deaths within 42 days of the end of a pregnancy - just like the UK’s NHS! This means that the stats from the NVSS are much easier to directly compare to the UK’s stats. This is because both the NVSS are following WHO guidelines specifically so that internal comparisons can be made. These stats are the ones that the WHO uses to produce its rankings, not the PMSS stats, so Don is completely wrong to suggest that organisations like the WHO have been “fooled” by countries using different definitions. So, looking at these statistics, whether from the WHO or the NVSS and NHS reports directly, we find that the US has a maternal mortality rate about 2-2.5 higher than the UK (~19 vs ~8) Remember that these are specific stats about the deaths during or within 42 days of the end of pregnancy, and doesn’t even take into account that the UK seems to be more inclusive in causes of death that it counts, so the real difference may be even higher.

The obvious key question in connection with the mortality rate numbers is what raw data the WHO uses in their formula in creating the rankings, not what the CDC and NHS do to reach the numbers that are listed on their websites. The WHO can take raw data and plug the numbers themselves in a uniform manner so that all nations' data are applied in the same way. I have absolutely no reason to believe that the WHO just uses each nation's numbers listed on their websites to create their rankings, even when the formulas each country uses are different. Otherwise a failing country in Africa or quasi-falling nation in South America which have terrible outcomes could just manipulate data to get to the top of the WHO rankings (e.g., if their formula was to take the number of deaths within one second of birth and use that as their infant / maternal mortality rates).

The only objection I can see to building a wall at the border is the cost. I don’t understand how anyone can say it won’t reduce the amount of illegal immigration from the south. Also, helping the Mexican government ‘deal with the cartel’ and fix their government in general (as if we aren’t already doing that) will also have a high cost in both dollars and lives. I say we build the wall.
@haruhirogrimgar6047
@haruhirogrimgar6047 2 жыл бұрын
The wall would literally cost us at least a trillion to upkeep just within a few decades. Illegal immigration doesn't cost anyone anywhere near that much. And on top of that if we were to spend those hundreds of billions, leading to trillions. Building up our allies would be a way better investment. We don't have to worry about illegal Canadian immigration except a few conservatives whenever they get told they can't discriminate against LGBTQ+ people. Why not work with Mexico's government, various charity organizations, and businesses to help bring Mexico up to that level of stability? The citizens of Mexico and eventually Sourh American nations would benefit, we would benefit from having more productive/stable trade partners, and you wouldn't have to worry about all those brown people you don't want coming in. And this us all without mention how hilariously ineffectual a wall would be in reducing immigration. You are asking to waste trillions of tax dollars on concrete out in the desert just so 11 ft ladder market spikes in value.
@PineappAlSauce
@PineappAlSauce 2 жыл бұрын
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 I agree that a wall is expensive, but so it rebuilding the entire Mexican and South American economy to reduce illegal immigration. The idea that an 11ft ladder is going to help people climb a 30ft wall (like the one designed under the last administration) is laughable. Illegal immigration is expensive and brings in crime. You’re delusional and living in a fantasy world if you think we just fix all of the problems in central and South America, please joins us back in reality.
@yayo0

There is no way around illegal immigration. I believe the wall with cause more criminality in Mexico AND the US, also more hostility towards the US. The cartels will use other methods to smuggle immigrants and they will charge more for it so there is only one option for the poor people. DO CRIME. Farming will get you nowhere, getting a job is incredibly hard over there but doing crime is easy, free and will get you enough money to pay the cartels. Mexicans will hate Americans even more for making their country less safe and killing their people. You will have probably a few less immigrants but still enough for you all to notice in your neighborhoods. The only difference is they are now experienced in crime. And the US is not helping fighting the cartels, they're HELPING the cartels. So is the Mexican government. Build the wall, sure, but it's more perfomative than anything.

Cost of wall $15billion - Cost of a single aircraft carrier -$15 billion. Is it worth it? yeah. We don't want to keep messing with other countries systems and meddling in their affairs. A wall is something we can do on our side without having to increase our involvement in foreign countries. We also need to start focusing on better drug rehabilitation systems and help for people that are using drugs. We have basically let them go by the wayside, we need to help our citizens to stop making the poor decisions that incentivize the cartels to sell drugs to our citizens.

Average number of people caught at the border is around 1000 per day in the Nogales AZ sector alone. Given there is no physical barrier to entry in many places, it's likely that at least that number make it through without being caught per day. The Cartels are often looked upon favorably by Mexican citizens. The Mexican Government is unwilling or unable to police the country, and Cartels often provide security to smaller towns and villages.
