Sarah McAulay I remember Pierre Trudeau. Whenever he answered questions about the economy he used to give very thorough answers referencing lots of facts and figures. Justin never refers to any figures. His responses are typically vague. He's also not terribly diplomatic. I may be old school but I prefer politicians who are less direct. Some people say Trump is heavy handed. I found Justin Trudeau's comments worse. I understand Trump's desire for a more equitable trading relationship with other countries. As a Canadian I'd rather Trudeau do less grandstanding and come up with some reasonable concessions.

As a Canadian, Trump complaining about Canada not importing US dairy and farm products doesn't feel like it has anything to do with Justin Trudeau as much as it does with how most Canadians feel. The majority of us value locally harvested food and want to support our own farmers because we legitimately do not need to import produce or dairy, we have plenty of land to do it ourselves. Canadians are happy importing many US goods and many of us aren't happy about Trudeau's retaliatory tariffs or Trumps initial tariffs as they both unnecessarily harm our economies and has lost jobs in both our countries.
