PLEASE don't think appreciating both these albums is a "boring take", you're one of the only online personalities who truly respects and captures the feeling this kind of music manifests and in the sea of people disliking popular artists' music often for how popular they are, it's refreshing to see someone who just chooses to "enjoy music". Also, the take at 8:35 is the realest I ever heard regarding Drake's discography. Incredible video.

Idk about that for me cuz while a year ago I did listen to Take Care then forgot about it and then now I love it. When I listened to IYRTITL it was like an instant classic I just love the minimal moody trap sound he did on that album, it's almost perfect. And I think he did that sound the best...well second best cuz rodeo exists. Like while I agree a lot of the earlier tracks weren't instant classics on first listen at least for me I thought ok if I listen to it again I'll like these tracks more. But the CLB there's literally nothing to go back to cuz it's so bland and even the good stuff he's just done better before like that Rick Ross track. So I kinda agree with him and also disagree. Also I want to enjoy music, I love music! And I rly gave CLB a chance but it was just disappointing even tho I had low expectations to begin with
@johnmarkson19903 жыл бұрын
@@tescomealdeals basically if your brain thinks the artist is bad the music will mostly sound bad. if you brain thinks the food looks disgusting it will most of the time taste disgusting. that kind of thinking. improving the presentation of the dish improves the taste. if clb wasnt drake and instead lele pons your brain would make the songs sound better.

If you don't believe me, just think about every good movie score, or listen "clair de lune" at night watching the city through a window. Music needs context. I feel like in many ways Donda is Ye’s most personal album. He really laid his heart out for everybody on songs like Hurricane, Jesus Lord, Lord I Need You, Come to Life etc. Sure in many ways TLOP is the most “kanye” album ever but Donda felt like ye coming to peace with lots of stuff in his life like his mother, his divorce, his spirituality, his reputation and relationship with the media, etc. I also find it incredible that he’s still capable of making music like Jesus Lord and Come to Life at age 44 CLB is Drake just… doing his thing. Its good, I love the run from TSU to Race my Mind (this song is fucking incredible), but its the same thing he’s been doing for the past five years. If we wanna compare these two artists Kanye released MBDTF when he was a year or two younger than Drake is right now… take that how you want it idk Favs from Donda: Jail, Off the Grid, Hurricane, Believe What I Say, Moon, Jesus Lord, 24, heaven and hell, lord i need you, keep my spirit alive, pure souls, come to life Favs from CLB: fair trade, tsu, pipe down, N 2 deep, no friends in the industry (this gon go crazy at the halloween parties), knife talk, race my mind Either way its still so exciting and fun that both dropped albums within a week of each other

Nathan, I know this comment is late, but I wanted to thank you for making this video and others like it. You've really made me see how much music videos, live performances, when you're listening, the people you're with, etc, can change how you feel about music. I hated Get You by Daniel Caesar for YEARS until you talked about how the video had such a great atmosphere. As soon as I sat down to watch it, it was like a switch flipped & I got exactly what you meant, and I've played that song almost every day since then. Because of you, I'm trying to open myself up more to music I would have dismissed before, and I'm really grateful. I'm glad to see you back and I'm looking forward to your future videos. ❤

The Drake album formula 1. No structure or theme, just random recordings 2. Add 5 below average R&B tracks about women from his past nobody cares about 3. 3 tracks about where he's actually rapping 4. 3 tracks about life before fame with his old friends we dont care about 5. one struggle regaae song 6. two songs with a hook that longer than the verse

I was in high school when The 1975’s debut self-titled came out and I loved 2 songs off of it but trashed the rest of the album. At the beginning of the pandemic I re-listened to that album and was BLOWN AWAY. Like what was 15 yr old me thinking? That album hits.

Bro CLB is addicting as hell, sometimes a melody or some lyrics pop into your head and you instantly want to listen to that song. Same with Donda, so I honestly think both albums have great music by two great artists and people just write-off an album or song on its surface level

I love to see how passionate you are about this!! I can see that you’ve had great memories and music really moves you. I love music too but I’m only 16 (so I was 14 when the pandemic hit) so the only songs I have memories to are pitbulls and Selena Gomes’ songs, from when I went to Florida with my parents back in like 2012 lmaoo I can’t wait to have so much fun like you seem to have and really feel a deeper connection with music 😌💜

I never cared for Mac Miller back around the early albums when my cousin tried to put me onto him. When he released Swimming it became my favourite album of the year and I went back and learned to appreciate his older work too. RIP Mac
@okamiwolf2503 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I really didn't care for him for years, just from hearing his stuff that made it to the charts. But when I saw that Self Care music video I was nearly moved to tears. I ended up listening to Swimming, and thought it was one of the best rap albums I had heard in a long time, and I've heard some great ones. Just raw emotion straight from the brain to the music, and it was beautiful. When he passed away later I couldn't believe it. I thought he was getting better. It sucked. And now I cry whenever I hear 2009, or I watch that Self Care music video. It still inspires me.
