I think this is a really good looking car, I can’t believe Ford is pulling these out of the United States. They would at least sell a lot of them to rental companies.

Oh no that's such a shame. I definitely think it would be a great car to have in the states however I can imagine that maybe the general population prefer a bigger car? This could be the reason but I really don't know being honest. Thanks for watching. Dave

gerry whelan oh really? That’s very interesting. Have you any idea what technical issues? Unfortunately we only test the car for anywhere between 1 day and a week. In due course we would love to do some ‘long term tests’ to get more of an insight into ownership of cars and discover things like this.

If I'm not mistaken the ST3 is the top of the range in the Focus range leaving out the RS. We have the 2016 ST3 an imo it's a better looking car as just don't like the style of the new focus. I do think having a bigger boot is great as that's the only gripe we have with our car. But best of luck with your show as nice to see Irish car reviews.
@DoneDealMotor
@DoneDealMotor 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ian. Yes I think you're correct the ST's are usually top of the line (including the RS). However the new ST isn't out yet. Saying that there is an ST line available and in my opinion appeals to a different car buyer than the Vignale as it has lower stiffer suspension and a few other differences to give it a sportier ride. Thanks for the feedback and input. Hopefully more reviews from Irish roads coming soon :) Dave
@q3b26
@q3b26 5 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, the old CC and the current ST cars generally mirror the standard cars in specifications. The ST1/CC1 would be a Style/Sport, CC2/ST2 a Zetec and CC3/ST3 a Titanium/Ghia/Vignale whichever is the range topper at the time.
@ianmcloughlin8416
@ianmcloughlin8416 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Billy I think you will find the ST styling is different than the other focus ranges bar the RS. . For instance the generation 3 2016 focus st we have is easily noticeable compared to the top of the range standard focus. If you look at the rear for instance the exhaust box on a St is totally different one to a standard focus even the position is different. The front is more sporty looking. Bucket seats are standard on the ST range not on the focus range. As for your comment on the CC that's a totally different car an no way resembles an St the focus Cc is a convertible an only came in generation 2 focus not seen a gen 3 focus cc. Ford's sport range are the RS (rally sport) an ST (sport technologies ). Imo the ST range is a better looking than car the standard focus range. Yes the ride will be tougher but that a compromise we were willing to take to having a nicer looking car.

Hey I absolutely love your videos and you clearly are a car lover and I like the excitement that you bring to the video I would just say that maybe you come off a little bit too enthusiastic especially at the start when reviewing these cars, may I say its not that your a bad presenter I just feel if you watch the many greats reviewers of cars you can see that they change enthusiasm as they either find what they love and what they hate about the cars, effective reviewers are objective, balanced, constructive. Please don't take this as that your videos are bad because I feel that you have the foundations to do great videos and I know that every video you have done has been better and that you clearly have learned from your mistakes. I believe that taking these videos to the next level and what you are definitely capable of making you really need to put in research time on how these other great car reviewers make such great content, you really can only learn from the best and while I clearly understand that you don't have a big budget like them I believe that by putting in a little research into subtle things on how they review cars you will surely be up with the best. And lastly, open the bonnet we all want to see what's under the hood even if it is electric and by the looks of it you live in a beautiful country you really should explore other areas than just the that one.

Hi John, Wow that was actually a really nice message to receive. I really appreciate the feedback as that's the only way I'll get better. I completely agree that I'm too enthusiastic. It's a difficult one as it's my personality in general, but it's something to work on as I know there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. Haha, we've pre filmed two more videos but the following cars we will check out what's under the bonnet! Thank you so much for taking the time to type this up, i really appreciate it. Hi Gerry, I'm glad you stumbled upon the review. Thank you for the feedback too. Apologies I didn't go further into how it handles and the gearbox etc.. The 8 speed box is very smooth and seamless in gear changes, however the diesel engine is definitely not as smooth as the infamous TDI engine that's fitted to the german competitors. On the flip side the handling and brakes are actually more responsive than a golf which is interesting. Hope this helps a bit more and I'll try get my hands on a 3008 in the near future. Great video. I've been looking into the focus' (Active, turnier) for a few weeks now but every now and then I come across annoyed owners who have constant transmission issues in their older focus'. Do you know if they have fixed that transmission and engine issues in this year model? Its been over a year already since this model is released and I'm guessing we should have some customer feedback already... Would appreciate your response. Thanks!
@DoneDealMotor
@DoneDealMotor 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nikesh, Glad you enjoyed the video. We are unsure if the problem has been resolved however from experience usually if there's an issue like this that is common amongst many of the production vehicles, they will resolve it relatively quickly (a year is generally more than enough time). What we do know is that there's a comprehensive warranty on new cars so should the transmission have issues they'll be fully covered. Hope this helps you a little, and if you do go for it then enjoy, it's a brilliant car.
@danielleroux6490
@danielleroux6490 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they have fixed the issues with the previous generation automatic transmission. That one used the PowerShift dual-clutch that had design flaws. This new Focus uses an all-new 8-speed torque converter conventional automatic that shares NOTHING with the old crappy automatic. If you want an automatic Focus, this is the one to buy!
@danielleroux6490

Good review, but this particular Vignale model is way too expensive. Also the interior quality is good, but look below knee level and cheap, nasty plastics abound. Not what I'd expect for 33,000. Boot space is bigger than the Mk3 but not massive by any standards. I've owned five Ford Focus cars since 2002, however this new Mk4 model has really turned me away from Ford.
