This compilation makes me so happy! I used to love watching Letterman EVERY weeknight. When the show ended, it was a real bummer. There really isn’t anyone who has, or will, replaced Dave’s spot

You knew the guests were in on the bit but I loved, Loved, LOVED the almost bewildered looks on their faces as Alan piled in on Dave and then stormed out. This stuff was gold.

Just one of these was funny enough. Alan was a gift to late night television. A whole string of these were simply, explosive. I think I woke the neighbours. Thanks again Don! Now have you got a pencil? Mark this down: Don Giller is a selfless curator who keeps David Letterman's legacy going and should be awarded greatly for these time travel escapades.

This is the single greatest video you've produced. I've seen most of these scattered about the Tube, but I never knew how many they did, and I had never seen the Duchovny segment or the Paltrow, Jackson or Cage videos. It's fun to see the evolution of the segment. It's also interesting to see how few they did over a span of five years. I wouldn't have guessed the bit lasted that long. The DeNiro and Hoffman bit was not the best, but was so cool to see. Odd they went to the trouble to film it, yet never aired it. Thanks so much!

OMG...between this and Don rickles as a guest absolutely hilarious. I wish there were more of them. Priceless! Alan Kalter never cracks a smile even when letterman and the interview guests are laughing. He is so funny and letterman cracks me up playing the straight man even when he breaks up laughing. I could watch this again and again.

I never cared for this bit (there was a lot of this kind of tonality around the house as a kid, though without the laughtrack), but I must say that watching Sarah Jessica Parker sitting there trying not crack up is absolute gold.
