Kind of feels bad. Seems like LO is so much wasted potential, I've always felt the IP was unique and interesting. Hurts to think that it might be on it's last leg of development. Regardless I have had some great times with it.

Incredible amounts of wasted potential. Wish someone would buy the IP and realize it. Chadz got salty and had an ego. Ruined fun for thousands and possibly will ruin the dev team. This idea is Valheim and will not succeed

It really makes me sad that last oasis has gone down this path. I just hope that it serves as a lesson for them to consider with new games and their development.

I dearly loved this game. i sank over 2500 hours into it seasons 1 and 2. The time with my friends building walkers and farming in the day, then raiding at night. While i was in Revival i was so proud to be trusted with a ship and crew, and we really did have fun in the larger battles. then seaeson 5 hit and there was no PVP, no reason to farm but to farm. Maybe someday we'll get a game that lives where we can build our dreams with somee sticks, stones, and maybe a little bit of earthwax.

Sad to see. This game has so much potential . though players can be easily pushed away by so many things. Season 1 and 2 were great. Though too many players were beat down by various things. So the player count kep dwindling each season

Very sad, though apparently they've done this sort of thing before? LO was honestly at its best during S1-S2. S2 really felt like they had a plan and idea of what Last Oasis was going to be but practically the moment Season 3 started it was obscenely clear what was happening. Really just sucks, they could have had an actually solid game.

Last oasis isn't even owned by donkey crew anymore. If you click on the store page it redirects to snail games. It appears the studio was purchased and most likely completely dissolved or remade. The reality is donkey crew doesn't exist anymore and they are just working on whatever snail games tells them to work on. Putting the donkey crew name on any title though is just a bad idea. They have no good faith and not a great history so they should have just dissolved the studio or remade it with a new name. In reality they probably only ever had 1 or 2 competent people working there in the first place. Best case scenario is they choose to move an actually competent team over to last oasis to keep working on it. The best we ever could have hoped for was somebody to buy the IP. I have been saying since season 2 that I hope the IP gets sold. Donkey crew never had the ability or skill to make a game like this in the first place and it shows.

Really feel all this game needed was factions in s1-2 then everyone would be in a clan can join big fights and there would be entire zones safe owned by factions. Sorta like a melee planetside 2 it's sad to see this game die..

Yea t his is quite sad news if it means the death of this game, I like you made so many friends in LO it was at the start of the pandemic and I hunkered down with a load of people I just met because of this game and I know this game and them got me through a lot of those lonely dark times. I always try to have a positive outlook on these things especially since many games come and go so none are permanent and that could drive you made especially with survival games were you build impressive stuff but then its just gone. I try to hold onto the great moments and not attribute them to the overall experiences and instead appreciate them for the feelings and positive effect it had on me at the time. If LO does die completely I won't have wasted much time on it because what I got from it can't be taken away.

The best we can hope for with the IP being owned by a new company is they choose to put people on the project that actually know what they are doing. However I doubt that will happen.

It makes me very sad to hear this. I had a fabulous time playing season 1 to 4. It's been one of my all time favorite games. Season 5 was just utter dissapointment. I kept hoping they would reboot to season 4 mechanics and just add more content, I definitely didn't want this game to die. Are there any private server communities that people can recommend?

Season 4 Last Oasis Classic server. They've done a great job rebooting things in their own style and they have a pretty high player count as well.

I'm so glad this game is dead I knew instantly it was destined for destruction after playing for 6 hours and getting teamed as a completely fresh player with no valuable resources whatsoever. That's the kind of toxic pvp reserved for late game because you kill enough freshies early on and you have a small but bloated minority of the same mega clans on top with no hope for progression from new players that first come in. It's funny killing noobs until the game dies because no new players are going to play a game they can't actually play because they keep getting killed and can't get ahead. The developers tried segmenting off tiles and I even saw pathetic posts on Reddit from self described alpha tribes telling curious noobs they'll back off they promise. Nah dude you killed your own favorite game way too quickly by being a toxic asshole and not letting new players at least get a fighting chance.

It just needed more content to keep players busy, they tried to rely on pvp and "player-driven-interactions" instead of developing things for the game.
