One of the reasons I haven't done a lot of horse training in the last few years is that being a such a soft heart, I took on the care of some donkeys who needed a lot of help.
Most people had given up on them, but I knew that with force free approaches I could help them, even though I had never trained donkeys before.
The laws of learning apply to all animals and people!
I wanted to celebrate a huge milestone for both them and myself. There was a lot of planning, training, tears and anxiety, setbacks and success and finally it all paid off in a stress free successful vet visit, that included needles, sedation and everyone having their teeth looked after by an equine dental vet.
I wanted to make the perfect video, but one thing my training and planning of my donkey's dentals taught me, is that I can't control everything and perfectionisn is the enemy of success.
Instead, I've blathered my way through a slideshow of a small portion of the events that took place in the lead up to the vet visit.
I'm over the moon happy it went better than I could have imagined and I'm hopeful that next time will be anywhere near as good for them (and me).
I hope you enjoy and also gives you hope if you are struggling with your equine.
