@@monicamad1285 Right On! She almost didn't Record it but Paul Jabara who wrote it hauled her in a Closet and made her hear it. It's one of her biggest hits of all time. She was also at one point next to Diana Ross the Biggest Black Female Singer in the World. She was still signed to Casablanca Records created by Giorgio Moroder who did The Music for the Oscar Winning Midnight Express and American Gigolo. It won The Oscar for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture beating out "Hopelessly Devoted To You" by Olivia Newton-John in Grease written by John Farrar. Sadly Paul would die of AIDS. She also sang it in 1992 when American Bandstand celebrated 40 Years overall in existence and she was the only Female to Guest Host at her peak.

She was the Queen of Disco. Became quieter as the years went on.Had 2 daughters I believe. Became very family oriented and lovely. Lovelier rather. Was a very kind and giving person. Oh my goodness! I remember hot summer nights dancing in my room to Donna Summer. I bought a pair of headphones because I was afraid my parents would hear the sexy lyrics and take my stereo away! In those days, us kids thought it really edgy to play the long version of her song, Love to Love You Baby. But then we also looked up dirty words that were newly entered into the dictionary and got a giggle from that. And this was when I was in college! We were so much more innocent back then.

I was 12 when this album came out and got it in my birthday. I was a hit too young to know exactly was being said lol knowing it now of course, I’m surprised I was able to play them. However, my parents probably thought it was way over my head anyway and it wouldn’t matter 😆

This was No. 1 in 1979. If you want to hear more Donna Summer hits that showcase her voice, I recommend her 1979 No. 1 duet with Barbra Streisand called "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)." "Dim All the Lights (No. 2 in 1979), "Heaven Knows" with Brooklyn Dreams (No. 4 in 1978) and "I Will Go With You (Con te partiro)," a 1999 No. 1 dance hit.

Donna Summer was such a huge talent. I doubt that many artists liked to share a stage with her because she had the power and singing talent to make most others look pretty ordinary. Besides this song and I feel Love, her other most popular are Love to Love you Baby, McArthur Park (If you do the McArthur Park SUITE -- that's about 17 minutes long), Heaven Knows, Last Dance, On the Radio, She Works Hard for the Money, Finger On the Trigger, Dim All the Lights, Bad Girls, No More Tears (Enough is Enough), This Time I Know It's for Real. Later ones are Carry On, Melody of Love, Love is a Healer, Con Te' Partiro. She had such an amazing, versatile, controlled and STRONG voice! She was WAY more than just Disco. I saw her Live in concert several times and that voice just FILLED the arena!! Seeing her Live was a totally different experience. Gave you a huge appreciation for her voice.

Donna Summer & Barbra Streisand/No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (Extended Version). This version will give you a better idea of why Disco became so popular in the late 70's. The music in this song was provided by Donna Summer's collaborator, the great Georgio Moroder, The Master of synthesized music in the 70's and the Father of Techno.

Finally picked one that shows her vocal ability!! Yay you! 👏🏼 Such an amazing talent with some major lung capacity! Thank you Jay! Last Dance, Dim all the lights and No More Tears duet with Barbra Streisand. They were in a vocal contest in THAT song! 💗💗💗

Donna Summer's career kick-started in The Netherlands in 1974 when her fist album, Lady of the Night, was only released there. She performed songs of the album in a very controversial show and she would later say how this was instrumental in her success later on. In 1975 she returned to the US and became the big star she was later. Here's her performance in 1974; kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGKkk5mjnJiebck
