The more I’ve learned about this guy, the more I like and respect this man. Many popular stars re actually terrible people to be around but not this guy. I think he’s a classy dude!

My wife and I got to see Donny at the Orleans a while ago and I got to see a bit of the genuine guy that night. We were moved from the terrible seats I could afford down to 4th row center aisle seats and were watching an amazing show. As "Puppy Love" started, my wife squealed, put her bag in my lap and headed for the aisle to dance with the other ladies. Now, her purse was an enormous carpetbag with a flower print, as was her right as a mother of five. As he was walking across the stage, he saw that enormous bag, looked me in the eye, and giggled, shook his head and went back to the song. What a great guy!

My unsettling hunch tells me that their father was very psychologically abusive? And their family will not admit it due to shame or just being very over protective of the whole family. This is heartbreaking.

I am proud of my Osmond ancestry, but I have to say that the harsh coldness that defined my grandfather also seemed apparent in George. I think they came by it honestly. I am certain George loved his children and believed he was molding them properly. We were all in awe of their talent, but even as a child I remember feeling very sad for my cousins. By the time Donny and Marie came along, any hope of a normal childhood for them had been completely erased. This family has given the world an amazing gift, but the price was so high. Donny's grief is heart wrenching

The thing i admire about the Osmonds is that none of them got into drugs or drinking etc..they stayed grounded no matter how bad things got, or how hard.. its sad they didn't have the normal childhood.. it made me get tears in my eyes when Donny did.. children need to be children and enjoy that part of their life..

Regardless of how the parents treated them, I still salute the Osmonds for growing up to be one of the MOST decent showbiz family in the world. I sincerely think they are genuinely nice people. I can smell fake through the screen (hello Kardashians!). I admire them for not filing for bankruptcy and paid off all their debts (unlike most showbiz people we know). their professionalism should be an example for all of us. I don't think there will be a showbiz family like the Osmonds ever again. i again salute them and i wish all of them all the best and for Donny, I wish you happiness and peace and all the success you deserve!

I was never an Osmond Family fan, but no one could doubt their professionalism as performers. I actually appreciated him more the older he got, and he could hold his own tolerance and humor with Howard Stern, and you've got to respect that. I think for all his being robbed of a more quiet life, he's remarkably down to earth and that's probably what saved his sanity. He's a survivor, like Brooke Shields.

George Osmond was a military man who controlled his children like a platoon sergeant, getting them up early to practice, and regimenting them to near breaking points and exhaustion. They were required to learn instruments and dance. They were taken around the world at young ages and never had normal childhoods.

Loved him since I was a child. My first concert ever was to see him at Madison Square Garden. For my 9th birthday my mom took me and my best friend. Can still remember all the girls screaming and crying over him. I was one of them! I remember his white pant suit and purple scarf. He threw that scarf into the audience and the girl near me caught it. He will always be special to me 💕

Me too, I have a lot of reasons to feel sad for what he went through when he was a young boy, he didn't get the childhood that he needed but he turned out to be the best at what he has done & continues to do. On stage he is charismatic and it shows. I have grandsons that didn't get a good childhood but they are still young & hopefully do heal from theirs, Donny had older brothers & a sister & baby brother that helped him through some sad times, they only had me.

Marcum Meadowlark I had the opposite effect. I was Mormon and struggling with some of their doctrine, for one thing, they do not believe Jesus Christ is God. To say we can become like God is wretched. God will always be King of Kings and Lord of Lords and only he is to be worshipped. Saying that, I became a Christian and repented for putting the Osmonds in "idol status." breaking a commandment. I met them, saw them over 20 times and they are flawed like the rest of us. It is part of my past I regret, no one deserves to be that important in your life but God.

The reason the Osmonds have been so successful in all ways, is because of their morals and values, and not to mention the Mormon faith. They are very decent, strong people who are the best inspiration. And God bless you Donny! I was madly in love with him from age 12-16, but also adored and admired the whole family. Sacrifice is part of life, no matter what you choose to do. And the Osmond's all say they chose entertainment as what they wanted to do. "Father and Mother" Osmond were the adult parents that guided them through it. I was there for some of their shows in the 70's and backstage (we knew family members) and their parents were always kind and wonderful to those kids. They kept them on the straight path, good for them. The family is truly a national treasure - God Bless them always.

If anyone is owed apologies who, concurrently, owes none of us a single apology. How much do these child performers sacrifice in the way of entire childhoods, identity, parental and industry abuse, etc. is anyone's guess, but if we can surmise anything by the emotional baggage they all seem to harbor, I'd say it's damn near irreparable. Donny, Marie and all the Osmond kids have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or to apologize for in terms of the millions of us who grew up loving them and their music. I love this, man, for his life and for simply being "Donny Osmond."

I have so much sympathy and compassion for Donny and his hardships. I think so many people only see the glamour of their life and don’t see the sacrifices they all had to make. Show business is a tough and fickle business to be in and even after sacrificing his childhood to it the fans quickly turned on him as soon as he was married. It should never have made a difference whether he was single or married it should have been about his talent and the music he made. I am so happy that he landed on his feet again and proved all his critics wrong. He is so incredibly talented and can do so much more than sing and yet he is very humble and kind.

Sorry. Don't 'feel' for you. "Hard" are kids who grow dirt poor, or with abusive parents, or a hundred other sad things. Being rich and famous ain't one of them. You could have quit anytime. Like you'd give that all up. My ass.

.Ruby Tuesday he was a kid, he had no rights and could not go against his own; he would not have abandoned a family of talented young siblings, Much like Michael Jackson in the same time period. Unless you can say you had to do the same thing and tell your family you were done, you shouldn’t judge.

Reminded me a bit of the Jackson dad, too. I went to high school with two of the older brothers, when the Jackson Five was huge. We were friends at school but they used to say that their dad didn't allow them to hang out with school friends at home. No time. Apparently the dad controlled their spending money, too, because everyday they "borrowed" money from me for the school's cinnamon buns at snack break. Sad when kids have no voice. And, breaks my heart to see Donny crying.

This is why I get so upset when people are so flippant about artists and entertainers. They have no idea how hard of a life it is to bear your soul so intimately day in and day out to serve an audience. A true artist literally gives their entire life to bring joy and emotion to others. That a is a rare and special gift that should be cherished and acknowledged❤

O m G . This is as hard core real as it gets!!!!! Stunningly open and honest. My respect for him over the years has just soared. I adore this man right now. Honesty in the entertainment industry is so very very rare and transparency is almost non existent. Thank you for this and Piers had his share of betrayal by the media. I always thought he was great at asking questions no one else would dare.

God Bless the Osmonds. In the late 70's-80's people always compared the Osmonds with the Jacksons and the Jackson's were always "cooler". Now looking back, seeing how this family still has each other and nothing weird came out of this family, I'd rather be an Osmond any day!!!! Lots of emotion in this interview. It makes you count your blessings for the lives WE Have. I saw Donny in Joseph and my God, did he earn the respect of all who heard him perform. WOW, STILL a great singer, and person!

They really need a solid union for children in the entertainment business. A union that only represents the children and not their parents. A union that provides counselling and open minded advice for youngsters in the business and a union that looks after the financial interests of the child. These kids are considered privileged and they are far from that. They work way too hard. The whole thing needs to be shaken up. Bless you Donny. Always a pleasure to see you on You Tube.

Donny, which is better for you happier or content? If its happier, your Dad helped play a part in that and if its content your Dad helped play a part in that too. Our Father planned your journey to make you who you are today. You are a beautiful son of Heavenly Father, created to be the best of what you can be through your talents and special gifts. You inspired me during my adolescent years and you still do. You touched many lives and influence many in a positive way around the globe. And God is still with you in your journey, don't be sad be HAPPY as well as CONTENT. Forgive and understand those whom God placed as the first teachers in your life and you will gain PEACE in yourself. God know your pain and hurt and God has provided a way through Jes Christ so we can forgive. God bless you Donny. Always close to my heart and never forgotten those blessed days..
