it just takes one simple video that shows someones home that makes all these "home experts" come out and comment. like it's a nice home. like there is a comment here talking about there is not enough counter space or an island. what if she is going to live here by herself or with one more person. the amount of room she needs is different than what the next person may need. this house is beautiful.

Not if youve shopped mobile homes and looked at your fair share. I did and I live in a 1,200 sq ft 2-bedroom with a sun room. So this home may fit her but the things you normally want are not in this home and I wouldnt buy it.
@marshamoore83855 жыл бұрын
Oh my God! Normally would want in a home. A roof, heat, running water, bathroom, kitchen? Um..I think I saw all of that and more. Oh yeah, electricity too! On about 35% of Native America Reserve's don't have those things. But it's ok right? We're all lazy drunks who don't deserve those thing's. We First Nation People's of the United States are used to hearing that. And worse. Grow up! Life shouldn't be about "thing's and comfort" all the time. Like, turn of the phone's, tv and game's and enjoy each other.

It was built better than most homes, and I miss it terribly. It just needed paint and carpet. I have a newer double wide, and the quality is so bad in comparison.

I think Patricia was just stating her thankfulness for having a home. Some people can do this. I agree with Patricia 100% it's nice and her color choices are hers. Some people don't care for that color just a fact of life. I also have a mobile home, not ancient and don't owe anything on it. I also am thankful that I have a roof over my head. I am on disability from working very hard for many years. I can afford to live in it w/o going to a low-income housing or retirement home. It is a very nice home though I would have used different colors BUT it isn't my home. I am very happy for this person just stating an opinion.

I too live in an old mobile home...I call her Lucy. She was built in 1959. Almost as old as I am! I live at the beach and while I don't have a beach view, I can hear the ocean and I can easily walk to the beach. Lucy is a 10x40 with a room added on for laundry; freezer, etc. I saw her. I loved her. There is a greenway in back so no neighbors there. I own the lot and only this year, I've owned her 8 years, do I have full time neighbors on either side. I like the small size. I like not having a mortgage. I have no regrets about buying her. I like showing her off although sometimes others just don't see the charm in the small space and simple living.

But, all in all I like my home. We have redone our walls in knotty pine, changed the bad windows for good ones, added a pellet stove, changed the carpet to laminate, totally redone the kitchen & pantry again in knotty pine, which we love. Quality as very good. 2x6 exterior walls. No printed wallboard and panel strips...textured overlay over wallboard. Plywood flooring. sheetrock with textured over lay. Extra insulation in walls. Wood cabinets...we added storm windows and came with steel entry doors. Remember you have to have land septic..electric and water access or pay rent to park it. Home also depreciates not like conventional house that will increase in value. Expensive to move. You have no return when you sell. You'll be lucky to break even.

Hello, are there alternatives to the glass doors. For security reasons I'd prefer solid door. And what do you mean when you say single wide? I have never heard a home described this way before. Thank you for your response.
@dorisshanks72957 жыл бұрын
dcaramelone This is a manufactured home built in a large indoor facility and comes in 14-16-18 foot widths called single wides. Long and narrow. They are built on a trailer frame with axles and wheels for transport. The A double wide is a mating of two single wide sections delivered separately and joined together at the site into one house. Looks more like a stick built home. These homes can be cheaply built or very well built depending on the manufacturer. Some are even more strongly constructed, no trailer frame, and must be delivered in sections on flat bed trailers. They are then lifted into place with a crane and connected to become a complete home called a modular. I lived in a mobile home for several years and sold mobile homes as well. Also was a kitchen and bath designer for a few years. Good design does not have to be for million dollar homes. Everything does not have to be top of the line, just good quality. Sometimes a can of paint is your best friend.

@edennis85786 жыл бұрын
NightOwl The company is located in Abilene. If I lived in the south, I would definitely want high ceilings because it helps to keep the house cooler.

They were trying to make it look less like a trailer, but its still a trailer, LMAO!
@Nicole2155 жыл бұрын
@@clemsonbloke There's nothing wrong with a trailer. We all have our preferences and should respect each others decisions.

@@Nicole215 No, theres nothing wrong with it. My point was that the design was trying to be like a house instead of a trailer.

Love the archways, but after living in an open-plan home for 20 years, I'm done with having the kitchen sink being the first thing people see from the front door AND while they sit in the living room. I wound up putting an antique buffet at the counter (no one sat there anyway, EVER) to block another twelve inches from the site lines. To each their own.

A nice frame around the bathroom mirror would have been great. Its a new house and i look at it and want to add so much remodeling. Its looks so dark amd dreary. But if the client loves it thats all tht matter

These homes have come a long way. I would happily live in this home. It's beautiful and perfect size in my opinion. Not everyone prefers a big huge home with a big huge morgage, I sure don't. I hope she is loving her beautiful home

Too many hurricanes in south Texas for a modular home. It’s very pretty but man they get wiped out fast.

Beautiful home! You wouldn't really need a pantry with all those cabinets!! This is the first single wide that I think actually has enough space. I'd definitely buy this one!!

But 80,000. For a home that depreciated in value as it ages. Insurance on these isn't good. And if a tornado comes it's gone. Too much money for me to pay for something like that.

2018 model, no granite counters, ceramic or travertine tile on the floors, no kitchen island. Do you offer upgraded versions?
@Plainsgrainbizpark7 жыл бұрын
Yes Sheree, You can definitely do granite. We also do wood tile floors as well. We don't ship them with those upgrades because they tend to break-up during transport. Those items are installed after delivery.

Don Provost what kind of flooring does this home have?? And about how much will it cost per mile or how is it metered for the road..permits..how many pilot cars will be needed and the cost for them $ $79,000.00 is a good price... It's the land... and getting utilities to the home... by calling ot a single wide..then I can assume its a mobile home... but you sure wouldn't want to risk getting the boot.. or rent goes up every year...

Nice and roomy yet there is no dining area. Where does one eat.... at the bar all the time? I love the kitchen cabinets, but would prefer the storage cabinets to be less deep. The floor space would be more important to me. Nice home, but definitely needs some improvements.

tegma it is a walking kitchen. Old fashion style. Not a hallway filled with appliances
@shhhlisten48505 жыл бұрын
tegma I was looking thru the comments to see if anyone else noticed that too. I think it would have to be a really small kitchen table. Either way you’d have to walk around it to use the kitchen and get to the laundry. If it was closer to the window you’d have to walk around it to head towards the master bedroom. I know it would only add a few extra steps but I would rather not. I do like the window/bar area that lets you see into the living room.
@charlii59176 жыл бұрын
It's very nice. If it were mine, I wouldn't want the furnace next to the master, those things are loud in a manufactured home. And the knots in the cabinet frames are fairly large and open, I see them as dust catchers unless they are filled.
@BigMamou3677 жыл бұрын
It's beautiful but seams a lot for Texas.
@inspire7346 жыл бұрын
The only major problem I see is what happens in a lot of people's homes and they don't realize until it is too late. Heat rises, why on earth put heating ducts on the ceiling? The heat comes out and stays on the ceiling. Even though it is Texas and warm here, still you will have to get some other form of heating for the ground level. I use electric fire places to heat my manufactured home. We use window units for air. Central eats up the dollars. No need to heat and air each room. You save by having individual units in each place. I am building a new place and installing metibushi room units for the air and electric fire places and small heating units for each room. Use only in room that are occupied. Save a ton of money.
@kw19967 жыл бұрын
Here's the cons that I see with this place; no closet to hang coats, shoes, etc as you come in the door. the corner sink is actually wasting space if it was just placed under the window normally you would gain space, and the raised counter is just a spot where dirt and crumbs will gather & is hard to clean. If you're going to make a wall of cabinets that deep then you should have installed slide shelves so you can reach everything right to the back. No pan for the washer to sit in if it leaks to catch the water, or if you don't want that then you should install a drain in the floor for the water to go. Where would you put your dining room table? I think you should rethink the design of a few things.
@monikanoneya51407 жыл бұрын
Nice for her, there are many things I would change, but if we all wanted the same things there would only be one style. You can definitely tell you are a salesman, you could be a much nicer home for a lot less, but if she loves it, it is priceless to her.

Hello Everyone! I really appreciate all the comments, do to the overwhelming response to this home and others it has been nearly impossible to respond to each individual. If you have questions, please email me at don.provost@oakcreekhomes.com or call/text me at 325-267-9787. When I originally started this channel it was for my customers to view the home before they came by to look at it. I didn't expect such an awesome response nation wide! At this time, Oak Creek Homes can only deliver in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Parts of New Mexico. We are a regional company; our factories are located in Fort Worth, TX and Lancaster, TX. I have spoke to so many awesome people across the country and I really appreciate your kind words and your interest in our fine homes! I have taken in all your comments (the good, bad and ugly!) to help me improve in my presentation and the features that are important to buyers! Thank you!!! Don Provost.
