It depends on what kind of music and youth you refer to . In opera , there are more and more young singers ,girls and boys alike and i am very happy and proud of it ! The youngest opera singers nowadays are about 20 years old ,sometimes a bit younger . For example ,Tim Mead started aged 16 and Nadine Sierra only 15 !!! Most of the stars of nowadays opera are in their 30s .Whereas 50 or 60 years ago ,most of them were in their 40s or 50s !!! It makes opera sound younger and somewhat more modern .i guess the emergence of a new style ,pop opera helped . People like Jakub Orlinski, Philippe Jaroussky or Léa Desandre have fans of all age ranges and i think it 's amazing !

This one took a bit to grow on me, I wasn't really hooked until I heard it the second time in the finals, but it's stunning. Minimal effects, no dancers, the music is firmly in the background - everything is understated except for his voice, which is all he needed. Definitely deserved a better final score, I think.

Most likely the best improvement from the semi to final! Maximised the stage presence and sounded more like a power ballad even though the vocals were already powerful. When I listened to the studio version of this, it didn't stand out very much. But his performance was so good, it actually made me vote for him twice. What a professional, sincere performance. What a stage presence. What a charisma. This man belongs on a stage. Love from Germany ❤

Sure he belongs on stage, he became popular in Latvia after a reality tv show almost 20 years ago and is one of the biggest artists in the country, I don’t even know when was the last time we actually sent legit top artist from the country, usually we have young guys on the rise there… well could say Aminata was already popular but not a the level of Dons I think, same as last year’s guys.

Єдиний, хто сподобався мені серед цього цирку. На сцену вийшла адекватна людина, не хвора, їй не потрібно нічого доводити і намагатись бути унікальним, не чорт, не гей, не наркоман, не небінар, а просто ЛЮДИНА, яка неймовірно гарно співає. Як же приємно було слухати, Латвія і Україна це як ковток живої води серед тієї темряви. Браво, Латвія, мені прикро, що моя країна віддала мало голосів. Я спілкувалась з друзями, вони свідомі і розумні люди, всім подобалась Латвія, але ніхто не голосував взагалі ні за кого, я в тому числі, чому? Тому, що якось не до цього, ці гроші можна витрати на донат, не знаю чи правильно я міркую, але вже як є. Шлю 🤍 з України.

This was such an underrated song and performance. It really annoyed me how UK commentators kept saying it was a surprise he got through and that he "did so well". So patronising especially when we were also told he's well known in Latvia and is a seasoned pro! The song should have done much better - it's a really strong song, with a strong vocal and performance. He doesn't need gimmicks, he's more than enough all by himself. It's on my Favourites playlist, Eurovision or not. Reminds me of Hozier songs.
