A true Durability Test of Hyperdip at the carwash! Plasti Dip and an Avery vinyl wrap hold up at the car wash. At the time of recording this video, the wrap and Hyperdip are about 3 months old and have been pressure washed a dozen times. The Plasti Dip was installed by me shortly after getting the Escalade about 5 years ago. You may notice the Hyper dip is blacker (richer) than the Plasti Dip. This is one of its benefits.

Great video. Nice to see that both the older dip and new hyperdip hold up really good. I just started watching a few of your videos and didn't realize until you pointed it it out that your Escalade is wrapped haha. It looks completely factory to me. I'll have to go and watch that video now. And also, I have never seen a car wash like the one you were in. This must be a North American thing because here in Texas, out of everything that's here, I've never come across an indoor car wash. There is one that semi's use but they are huge for that reason.

Thanks for the great videos!!! I just used hyperdip yesterday on my Honda Civic emblems and I was wondering if I should use a hair dryer on a spot on the back Honda emblem that lifted a bit during the peeling process? I just pushed it back into place with my finger but I'm worried about it lifting again in the humidity or rain/snow/ice etc here in 🇨🇦. FYI I used 7 coats. Thanks for your help 👍.

Since you’re in Canada do you use Krown Rust protection and if you do does the application of that affect the Plastidip on the wheels?
@Donslife
@Donslife 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicole, I haven’t used or have had to use any Krown products. Most of what I have used plastidip on has been in new or like new condition so once the Plastidip is applied, it adds some protection. If there was a rust spot or oxidizing, I would probably take care of those spots first before covering.

Post heating just means heating up the vinyl with your heat gun and running your squeegee over it after it is laid down. This works out micro bubbles and activates the adhesive. Manufacturers can use different heat recommendations and methods too

The front emblem is fine but I noticed the back emblem started to peel along the top, exposing the chrome. What happens when you get new tires put on ,peel it off an redo your wheels ,?
@Donslife
@Donslife 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, It would depend on two things: 1 - If the wheel weight is on the outside lip of a wheel, you would probably have to peel it off and respray. 2 - Outside wheel weight or not, the tire guide on the machine would rub lip unless the installer is super aware of the risk. In my opinion, it is not a huge deal to respray if needed. 1 can usually per wheel.

@Donslife
@Donslife 3 жыл бұрын
I live in Saskatoon, Canada, almost all of the automatic car washes here use brushes that are caked in sand and gravel from the winter road conditions. it is too cold here for salt to be effective in melting the snow. I prefer to hand wash at home during our 4 days of summer and the rest of the time use a wand wash and avoid scratching the clear coat for the paint that isn't wrapped (top 1/3). I am not concerned with the Hyperdip peeling from an automatic washer, but do want to avoid the damage it can cause on other surfaces. I hope that answers you question
