I guess I should mention, to everyone saying just replace the boot. You are correct. However, my parts department says Nissan does not sell just the boot, and I can only recommend Nissan parts. On top of this, the dealership has chosen to goodwill this vehicle, which means Nissan has approved these repairs.

I love Nissans and am on my 3rd one since '99. If you take care of your car and aren't aggressive the first 2 years of the CVT, they're just fine. Keep the content coming.

You never know what gets into that system after the boots fail, and generally it means a future failure of the system. It's the same as when CV boots go - you'll have to replace the whole joint (axle).

If you go to a shop they're gonna do it the right way instead of a fix that may or may not fail more down the road that they'll have to warranty. If you want the half assed fix that might do it, don't take it to a shop. Do it yourself.
