If someone monetizes their apology video, it's pretty obvious that that's the only reason they made the video. If there wasn't money involved they wouldn't have said anything. Gross.

The only time I feel it’s right to condemn someone for something they said or did 15 years ago is when they clearly haven’t changed and do the same thing that they where doing thinking that their actions don’t have consequences.

yeah I don't mind pre roll but hate ads in mid sentence several times on vids, or music streams with ads every 10 mins, or audio podcast vids with ads every 7 mins. as for drama/ call out/ apologies, I've sense avoided those because it all sounds the same. I just read the descriptions and a few comments while the vid is pause to get the quick summery and move along.

cetriya's Art n Comics Channel like for me I like to have 2 ads in 20-40 minute videos. I think it’s more than fair if it’s spaced out and as for streams. If it’s 1-3 hours I try to do one every 30 minutes. Cause it’s every 30 minutes. But I hate hate haaaaate when it’s every 3 minutes ( I’ve seen this ) cause the person is having a hard time. So I have to use things like add blocker. Cause I just have no idea what they’re even saying.

Yeah i fully agree with this And i think whats even worse, is that sometimes the controversy that caused the apology is just fabricated for views/ attention as well It's apparently an advertisement strategy to cause needless controversy to get everyone talking about somehting and then put out an apology to gain sympathy It's kind of disgusting how effective it is to monetize controversy :/

I agree with a lot of these things, the only thing i'm going to say is that not all officers are going to do something about it unless the person affect goes to them. So if a fan of someone gets blackmailed, only they can go to the police, so if someone who isn't them go to the police, nothing they can really do.

Today in detention someone was arguing with me and said they would call their older sister on me. My response was, "your older sister, what did you mum leave you?" And he broke down, walked out of the room, and cried. I had hit a nerve. Later that i day I found him alone in a secluded part if the campus and personally apologized to him, told him what I said what done out of self projection and quick thinking, meaning I wasnt thinking about what I said. I did NOT put him in the center of the school with a microphone brodcasting my apology to him and how I'm angry over other things so I'm okay. I did NOT profit out of my apology in anyway, no one else knows that apologie even took place. And at the least, I did nothing more than repair a relationship that i didnt have. Why should it be any different on the internet?
@histranger5808
@histranger5808 4 жыл бұрын
I agree with not monetizing an apology, but feel the example you gave wouldn't really fit on the internet. When you make harmful content, and are seeking forgiveness for it your not apologizing to one person, but to your entire fanbase, and anyone else you may have hurt. unless of Corse it was a personal affair that your community just so happened to get a hold of.

The only thing I disagree with in this video is "go to the police instead of social media." While that definitely SHOULD be the recourse people have available for them to deal with predators and abusers, sadly that isn't always the case. Of course this video is on a wide range of situations, but the police pretty much across the board have been infamous for doing jack squat unless you have the perfect story with zero loose ends and almost nobody has that. Even if you can make it to court and afford a good lawyer, it's a long grueling process that can often end in a disgustingly light sentence and retraumatization. This means tons of wolves in sheeps clothing are walking around scott free and people are in danger. The system doesn't work effectively or quickly enough, and people have the right to know when they're idolizing somebody's abuser if that person doesn't have the means to put them in jail.

To be honest... and well this is my oppinion too. Monetizing it should make no difference, like. it's like a subtle moral card to play? like... someone can acuse of something awful things and claim they're no monetizing it cause oh its serious. But then there are cases people are doing false accusations and saying its not monetized suddendly make people believe you more. And at the end of the day... being a public figure is a work for many people here. having an apology video demonetized that could later achieve millions of views... could that be seen like a waste of money? like at least you could donate it. but idunno i see it that way

IMO,just dont monitize videos talking about very serious topics(example: say, your friend dies of some mysterious disease)and you're trying to raise awareness instead of profiting off your friends death. Then again,your video might get demonitized anyway,but still. there are,of course,exceptions(like say your other friend comes out and then their parents are abusive towards them/kick them out,and you're trying to raise money to take them in)but the folllowing definitely shouldnt be monitized -apology videos -videos speaking out against something really f*cked up(like your friend dying of a mysterious disease) -videos filming someone having a meltdown or something(i mean,those videos shouldn't exist at all)

For the most part, I agree with the idea of not monetizing apology videos... But there is ONE reason, and one reason ONLY why I can see it being ok.. and that is If you do have a large audience, and you KNOW people are going to be watching your video, and you monetize the video and donate the proceeds to a charity. I watch KZbinr S who recently got into a kerfuffle with KZbinr E over a poorly made video.. KZbinr S took the money made from the poorly made video and donated it to a charity benefiting the subjects in his Poorly made Video.. He then made a few follow up videos, one was an "apology" Had KZbinr S monetize those videos for further donation (with proof) I think it would have been acceptable to have the video monetized..

You know I can agree with that if they show proof they sent the money to charity. There have been times people have SAID they would do that yet show no proof of doing so.

Are you even surprised, even the news does it lol. "This big dramatic thing happened everybody look!", and then the next day "NVM! It was nothing! And we certainly didn't lie, even though if you rewind the source video 3 seconds it explains everything! Everybody look!". It's an internet problem, unfortunately...
