However I do agree that Depop's customer service leaves much to be desired, but they've been surprisingly good at getting rid of people sending creepy & inappropriate messages (whereas Ebay do nothing about this). I'd definitely recommend it for selling clothes, accessories, etc (and NEVER do 'swaps' or pay via friends & family) but personally would sell things like phones and laptops elsewhere!

I have a love/hate relationship with depop. I've had many good trades and sales and buys but one time I mislabelled the size of an item. The buyer messaged me and told me so and I assure them that I would refund them after they returned the item. Despite this, they reported my account claiming the item was not as described when it was a simple issue of the item not fitting them not that it was not as described. Like no need to be a wanker i said i would sort it and i did but they did nothing to protect me from the false strike

I am an active seller on this app. I have been for nearly 2 years. For the most part, I love the app, and the customer service. As for payment, in the US it runs through Paypal. Depop just takes their fees FROM THE PAYPAL ACCOUNT. So, as soon as transactions happen, it automatically goes to Paypal. So, it doesn't matter if it's ebay or depop or whatever. If you're in the UK, and you used Depop's REMOVED FEAUTRE Depop Wallet, then I understand why you made this video. If, however, you used Paypal, then talking to depop would be the dumbest thing you do. Of course you'd tell depop about the situation, but asking them for your money wouldn't be correct. If depop says they can't do anything, they're not lying. Most experienced sellers would just go to Paypal and send them your evidence. You would've gotten your money fast.

I've sold and purchased over 60 items on depop and I've had nothing but a great experience with it. I've also have contacted their customer service over some glitches I was having in the app and I emailed back and forth with a rep and they didn't try to understand the problem which wasn't that big of a deal but as far as payments go I always go through PayPal and wait till I receive the money into my personal bank account after transferring it from PayPal to ship any items off. I also only ship items, I will never meet up. I always check the reviews also on the persons profile I'm selling to to see if they are on daily liking stuff and if they have their own reviews from either selling or buying. I'm just always making sure I'm being cautious. Most like it's a scam if they aren't going and liking pictures or they lack communication. If you ever feel uneasy about selling to someone I would just not to them and explain to them why. Just some tips!

Nikki's Fashion Diary Honestly, Depop is great. I recommend not doing any meet ups and rather do it by shipping. Ensure that the payment has gone through and then ship if off yourself and ensure you have tracking number for your shipment to make sure that it has been mailed and if a customer complains show them the proof. Some customers might say “Oh I haven’t received etc etc.” To scam you. But if you have the tracking number you can check it yourself.

I got scammed three times bc I bought in bulk without reading the sellers’ reviews . It’s been about a month and PayPal still haven’t refunded my money . It sucks because one of the seller’s I’ve bought from I can’t leave a negative review to warn potential buyers from having it happen to them too . Only bc my item still says awaiting shipping . This is why I shop on Mercari bc on there the seller has three business day’s to ship . And it’s easier to get a refund . Plus , one of the seller’s sent me an empty package and another never shipped out a choker I ordered . Depop’s customer service is shit . There’s cute stuff on there but it’s a bigger risk which is not worth it .

When selling on depop no matter what it is to avoid eating scammed please wait until you get noticed from PayPal that the money has been received BEFORE you send the item out. If you don’t get the payment than skip to the next person. Same goes with eBay. I sold my old iPhone on eBay and luckyily my boyfriend deals with PayPal like everyday. We had several scammers try to get us to send out the product without paying or ways around getting me to send it and the money not go through. It’s a risk you take when you sell stiff through PayPal. Just please be careful. Make sure you get the payment first than meet up/sell the item

Oh my. So many people don't get the point of the freaking video. He's not saying he made a very good decision by selling a laptop on depop, BUT that depop kinda cost him the money for his laptop. If you listened, he said that the depop customer service sent him a mail that the payment was secure, that's why he even gave the buyer the laptop. Depop failed him in the way that they held off the money and didn't really try to find a solution. I think he should have named the video differently, but other than that, very creatively made and helpful video review/experience retellling.

I friken tried this app and bought my FIRST item today got all confirmation from both paypal and depop that everything went through. After going back to my profile, the app logged me out. I tried to log back in and it said my account was suspended. I never got a warning email. Plus I never did anything against TOS. We'll see if the seller decides to send my items since my payment did go through. I emailed and FB them so far no reply but it all did occur today. Follow this guys advice. Steer clear from depop.

I sold an item for $230 AUD. Depop's commission is 10% of the sale and 20c or something like that. Instead of charging me $23 AUD, they charged me in USD, which is obviously way more. I contacted them about this and all they said was that they don't charge in AUD, instead of converting the currency to make it 10% of the sale. Absolutely ridiculous!

This is the video I needed to convince me to delete the app. I 'swapped' an item on the shop but i never got the item I swapped with. Could say I'm stupid but we set both items to the same price to neither of us lost out. The money never went through from them on my end and they never sent the item. I posted a public announcement post to notify my followers to never trade with this seller and I contacted depop for help on it, instead of really considering my report and message regarding the problem they just deleted my post on the seller and gave me a hate soeach warning even though there were no insults or anything. Users are EXTREMELY rude and it's very insecure and most of the time they don't even publish your item on the search section so no one can find what your selling and instead they publish items that are being sold by huge shops and sellers who have over 10K followers 😡😡😡
